"Oh." Mercy said, wishing for any topic other than this.

Alaric looked at her, a bit confused by her look, "Is everything alright?"

"Yeah yeah everything's fine can we just maybe, talk about something else?" Mercy said, trying not to sound too unsettled.

Alaric raised an eyebrow, a bit confused but shrugged, "Alright, alright, fine." he said slowly, continuing to walk along the road with her, glancing around for any carriages nearby.

( hey I'm really sorry I wasn't able to get on all week I was out of town)

"There's gotta be a carriage around here somewhere. i would really rather not walk all the way." Mercy said, looking around.

((It's chill, I understand))

"Use your girlish charms to get us a ride then." he winked.

"I'm more inclined to use my gun." Mercy said, rolling her eyes

"Though, that probably won't make them happy now, will it." Alaric sighed, continue to scan the area. The road was eerily empty which unnerved him slightly, though he remained calm.

"They probably wouldn't like my girlish charm either, seeing as it's quite lacking." Mercy said with a chuckle. She noticed that the road was quiet as well, and she glanced at Alaric to see if he was thinking similarly.

Alaric glanced at her, "I'm guessing you're concerned about the emptiness as well?"

"Yeah, it's a little quieter than it should be." Mercy said, alert now.

"Come on." Alaric said, gently grabbing her by the wrist, guiding her away from the open road towards the woods, where he thought would be a better place to go undetected.

"Probably a good idea." Mercy murdered, letting him lead her.

"You have a weapon on you, right?" Alaric asked quietly as he continued to hear the rustling of leaves around them.

"Multiple weapons." Mercy replied, moving her free hand down to her pistol and looking around warily.

Alaric nodded, glancing up at looming trees. He narrowed his eyes as he saw something fall from the trees to their feet. He backed off a bit, looking at the round object that had smoke rising from it. His eyes widened, but before he could utter a warning, the smoke spread out, causing his eyes to water and for him to gag.

Mercy took a single, alarmed step back before the smoke also engulfed her and she started coughing, unable to see.

Alaric continued to cough stumbling backwards as he faintly heard a soft 'thump' behind him and then felt someone grab at his arms and force them behind his back as he fell to his knees.
Another unknown enemy came behind Mercy and attempted to bind her arms behind her back.

Mercy struggled against her attacker, but without being able to see it was rather useless. She felt her arms being forced behind her back roughly and tied.

Alaric felt too overcome by the smoke bomb to do anything but surrender.
"Let's get going." he heard a faint voice said, as he tied a blindfold around Alaric's eyes.
"Got it." same the attacker who was busy try to cover Mercy's eyes as well.

Mercy continued to struggle weakly against her captor, but the blindfold went over her eyes and she felt it being securely tied. Great.

"All set." The voice announced as it forced Mercy forward.
"These were the ones we were suppose to get, right?" the second one asked as he led the way, forcing Alaric to walk in front of him.
"Aye" the voice responded, "They've been the only one that have walked down this path today, just like we were told."

Mercy's blood ran cold as she listened to the words, either this was a mistake and the thieves had actually grabbed the wrong people, or their capture had been planned.

Alaric became alert of what they were saying. He began to twist and struggle against his capturer. From this action he earned a hard punch in the gut.
"Knock it off." the person snapped, he realized that the person was a woman.

Mercy heard Alaric struggle, and renewed her attempts to get free, wriggling against the man who held her arms.
