Levi's room was large, posh, and more comfortable than anything he had ever known. "Wow. At least the accommodations are good."
Victoria laughed. "Say what you want about us, but we know how to live in maximum comfort."
"I'd say so." He turned, watching her. They both had the same red hair and brown eyes. She even smiled the same as him. "If you never loved my father, why'd you have me?"
"Who said I never loved him?"
"Did you?"
"For a time. He was charming and romantic. But he lacked Alexander's charisma and power."
"Why'd you kill him then?"
"I didn't."
"You were involved."
"No, I wasn't." Her eyes hardened for a moment. "Alexander had him killed once he became useless. He did it without my permission or my knowledge. I came home one day and he was lying dead on the floor."

"How well do you know the city around the mansion?" she asked.

"I know it well," Alaric admitted, "I've been around Nexia for a while, why?"

"Did you mourn?" Levi asked, leaning against the wall.
"Of course I did. As heartless as you think I am, I'm not quite that heartless. But it was pointless to lose myself over, so I moved on."
Levi watched her face carefully. "Either you're a very good actress, or you meant all that."
"I meant it, Levi. I can assure you of that."

"Work with Israel. Figure out where to send the kids to watch the house."
Israel glanced at him. "Up for a trip back into the city?"

"Of course," Alaric nodded with a small smile, "If it'll help."

Victoria sighed. "Well, get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a busy day. Alexander will want to see exactly what you're capable of."
"Yay. What about clothes?"
"In the closet." She smiled and disappeared from the room.
Levi collapsed on the bed, exhausted in every way possible.

"It should. We'll have to be very careful though." He led the way down to the forest floor.

"I'm good at being stealthy," Alaric assured, following after him.

"Good." Israel rolled his shoulder. The pain medicine was wearing off slowly. He lead the way back into town. "Are you going to be staying with us or moving on soon?"

"I hope to stay for a while, I brought my siblings here to help out. They'll be helpful to the group." Alaric said.

Victoria found Alexander downstairs. She wrapped her arms around his stomach. "So, what now, my dear?" she asked, kissing his shoulder.

"We could always use more hands," Israel said, smiling his thanks.

Alexander smiled at her as he turned around and kissed her on the cheek, then murmured against her skin, "We drive the boy further away from his group, by showing them they're just as ruthless as the rebels he saw today."

"Anything to help," Alaric nodded.

"And how do you propose we do that?" she asked, her arms encircling his neck.

Israel smiled again and nodded. He looked forward as they reached the city. A street kid darted out of an alley to meet him. He knelt down. "Gather up the usuals. Have them meet me outside Siren's Song in 15 minutes."
The boy nodded and darted off.
"So, where are the best places to watch the house?"

"We send in a girl to beg for the rebel's help, but when Levi comes into play, the girl will tell him how evil the rebels are, and how they've hurt her." he smirked, "We'll just play with the boy's mind."

"From the roof of one of the bars, you can see the estate almost perfectly," Alaric responded.

She tsk'd her tongue. "The poor, tormented soul. But, it'll work like a charm. Are you going to have Vincent bruise her up a little? To make it look real."

Israel nodded in agreement. "I'll take that spot and switch off with someone every once in a while. Any place along the street that we can put someone?"

"That's what I was thinking." Alexander said with a nod, "Your son will join us in no time."

"There's place here where Catherine always goes by to get home, that may be a useful place to station people." Alaric responded.

"But tell Vincent not to completely mutilate the girl. Just enough to get Levi's emotions running. He tends to get a little out of control."

"I can send a couple kids to watch. No one ever notices the kids and the homeless. They're very good spies. Do you want to keep an eye on the place or send someone else you trust?"

"Of course," Alexander said with a nod, "Just enough for him to question the group he has been with."

"Hm," Alaric closed his eyes thinking, "I can have my brother Allen watch there during the day, and maybe switch off with someone after a while, so it doesn't get suspicious."

"Good." She kissed his lips briefly. "Well, I'm getting very tired. Would you mind sleeping here tonight?" she asked, fingering his shirt collar.

"Sounds like a plan. Come meet my tiny spies," Israel said, heading for the bar.

Alexander smirked at her, "Of course I don't mind, I'll just have to sleep with you then." he murmured in her ear.

"Sounds weird, but alright," Alaric said, following after him.

"Oh, pity," she murmured sarcastically. "I'd hate to torture you in such a harsh manner."

Israel chuckled. By the time they reached the bar, 9 kids between 8 and 13 were waiting for them. "They work for me, I make sure they get fed. It's an effective system. They'll watch the streets and mansion for us." He turned towards the kids. "Randy and Liza, I want you to watch Catherine. Work the street she walks on. Beg for money, play games, run around, do whatever you want to keep eyes on her. Calvin, Katie, and Harrison, keep close to the mansion. Rotate off every few hours with the other four. At the end of the day, report to me and Alaric here about everything you saw. Tell us when the guard changes, who leaves, who comes, and look for any hidden entrances. If you do a good job, you get two hot meals and a warm bed." He looked at Alaric. "Anything to add?"

"Looks like I'll just have to suffer through it." he winked and took her hand, leading her upstairs.

"Uh," Alaric muttered before awkwardly saying, "And have fun . . .?"

((Off to bed, night~))

Victoria laughed, following him up.

The kids laughed and scattered at Israel's nod. He smiled at Alaric. "They get off on this, I swear."

(I'm going to bed, too. Night!)

Alexander slipped into the room with her, closing it as they went in.

"Well, at least they're going to have fun." he smiled, rubbing the back of his head.

Mercy walked down the hall, unsure where Alaric had gone. Mentally shrugging to herself she kept walking, figuring she'd run into someone sooner or later.

(I'm so sorry I haven't been on lately. It's been a strange week.)

Israel laughed. "They always do. Ready to head back?"

"Yeah, Mercy is probably wondering where I went." Alaric said, with a nod.
