Faith's Edge RP

"Fang! Thank gods you're alright. Um, Neko moved me here for . . . safekeeping." He didn't want Fang to know what happened. It'd only hurt him.

"Weird . ." he slurred, attempting to get up but only fell back down, "Everything . . is . . . spinning."

"Fang, you have to get out of here." He looked up as Devon came around the corner. "Devon, get the girls and Fang out of here."
"Not without--"
"Yes, without me. I can deal with Neko on my own. I know him better than anyone else."

"Y-you're leaving?" Fang asked, dazed.

"No, you are. I'll be here for a little while . . . and then I'll be leaving." He smiled sadly. "I'm trying to keep you safe. You've protected me ever since I showed up at Faith's Edge. Now I'm returning the favor."

"I'm not leaving you," Fang said, looking at him, still unfocused, "We're brothers, I'll never leave you behind."

"You have to, Fang. I'm sorry, but it won't work any other way. I'll . . . figure something out. You'll see me again," he lied, knowing full well he'll never see Fang again after this, but he put on his brave face. "I will not let you suffer if I can do something about it. Go! Now!"

"No!" Fang said, standing up, "Whatever you ended up doing to yourself, I'm staying here to protect you from it. I'm not leaving without you!"

"Fang, you need to leave." Jade said quietly, steeping out from where she and Chloe had been hiding.

Colin looked to Jade and Chloe. He got to his feet and smiled sadly. Jade understood. "You're missing the point, Fang. I'm staying here to protect you. If you stay and try to help, Neko will hurt you to get to me. I can't let that happen. Let me deal with this one on my own."

Fang glared at Jade before looking back at Colin, "You better promise me you'll come back then."

Jade bit the inside of her bottom lip and glanced back at Colin. She didn't want to leave him, she thought she might be able to help, but the others at least needed to get out of here.

"I promise," he said, smiling encouragingly. "I'll be fine. Don't worry."

Fang hesitated before nodding, "Alright, I'm holding you to that." he watched as Chloe unlocked his cell. Fang followed her out as she walked over to the bar of Colin's cell and kissed him on the cheek, "Be safe, Colin," she said with a sad smile.

(I thought it said Fang kissed him for a second there. I'm sitting here thinking "oh-ho, more than brotherly feelings now, is there, Fang?")

Colin returned smile. "Take care of Fang for me," he murmured.

((WELL that would just be awkward.))

"Of course, but you'll be back soon to take care of him," Chloe said with a sad smile before turning to Jade, Devon and Fang, "Let's see if we can find any members of Faith's Edge before we leave."

(lol that's what I thought when I first read it too!)

"Alright." Jade said with a nod toward Chloe. She looked at Colin, wanting to help him, but she doubted he'd let her.

(Eheheheheheh. I mean, if that's what you wanna do . . .)

Colin gave a little salute to the three of them before settling down on the cot and leaning against the wall. His heart sunk as he watched them leave.

Chloe led them towards the opposite end of the large Cell portion of Death's Bloom. Fang gave one last look at Colin before following the others.

Jade started to follow, then glanced back, feeling awful. Being left alone here of all places... "Colin, I think I could help" she said quietly

Colin offered one, last smile before Fang disappeared around the corner. He sighed and ran one hand through his hair. He looked up at Jade. "How?"

Devon made it out of Death's Bloom and waited in the shadows for the others to show up.

"I just, know how things work, I know Neko and Demas." Jade said "Neko locked that with some sort of magic right?" she asked, indication the cell door.

"Yeah. Jade, I grew up with Neko." He hesitated. "I know why he wants me. I know how he thinks. I appreciate the offer, but I have to do this."

"That's right," Neko smirked, standing at the end of the stairwell, "Get away, Jade. I'll let you live because your father would be upset if I kill you."

Colin looked from Neko to Jade and back. He got to his feet again, walking to the bars.
