"We can deal with her later anyway." Mercy assured.

Gen nodded and smiled slightly, "Alright, I'll just stick around here then."
"Good." Alaric said, pleased.

"Yeah." Mercy said "And Gen? Levi will remember, there are things you can't forget. It just might take some time." she said, trying to be reassuring.

Gen looked at her a little taken aback but regain her composure and smiled at her, "Thank you, Mercy. I hope you're right." she said quietly. She appreciated her kind words, it gave her hope.

Mercy smiled at her before falling silent and staring straight ahead. She was glad they'd finally found Levi, but it reminded her how Ben was gone for good, and it hurt.

Gen put a hand on Mercy's shoulder, "I miss him too." she said quietly, "But at least he's not in an unfair world like this anymore. He's free of our struggle."

Mercy sighed "I know, I try to think like that." she replied

Gen looked at her sadly before glancing away, not knowing what else today.
"Man, today has just been depressing, hasn't it?" Alaric muttered.

"Yeah, but hey at least we're alive." Mercy said with a slight smile.

"True," Alaric smiled back at her. He was still shocked Snake had let them go, it seemed unreal to him.

"So let's make the most of it." Mercy said determindly

Alaric's smile grew larger and nodded, "I like that attitude, hell yeah we will."

Mercy smiled "Well good."

Alaric put his hands in the pockets of his pants as he looked around. He felt a bit unnerved not knowing where they were, but if the two girls trusted this group, he would also trust them.

Mercy watched the group ahead of them, and their surroundings as they walked, quietly assessing everything.

"Do you plan on staying with this group for long?" Alaric asked Mercy, quietly enough so no one else could hear, besides Gen who he was still supporting.

"Possibly permanently if they'll let us, and if we like them well enough" Mercy replied softly

Alaric nodded, though he didn't respond. He felt like the only life he had was with the Outcasts, but now that he was betrayed, he felt he belonged nowhere.

"I know it's a change. I'm sorry you got mixed up in all this." Mercy said sincerely

Alaric shrugged, "I don't regret anything that has happened. It's just hard having to realize I have to move on."

Mercy nodded "I understand." she said with a small smile.

"Good." Alaric nodded, "Besides, all that matters now is getting our siblings away from Lacie."

"Very true." Mercy agreed

Alaric continued to walk forward, looking up at the sky idly. He just wanted to get to the camp so he could get Mimi and Allen. He was afraid that Lacie may have done something to them.

Mercy prayed for good luck, for once. She needed to get her brother.
