"Good luck." Mercy said, standing up to go back to Jack.

Alaric smiled once behind his back at her then went off to find Gen. After a few minutes of searching, he found he in the woods.
"We need to talk." he said, leaning against a large tree.
She turned and looked at him," There is nothing to discuss, Alaric."
"Like hell there isn't." he said, frustrated, "Why did you take the blame for me?"
"It's my life, Alaric, I can do what I want." Gen said evenly.
"You've been doing so much for me, I need to know why!" he snapped.
"Because I can relate to you, alright?" Gen sighed, frustrated, "I felt like it was the right thing to take the blame." She walked up towards him, "I'm sorry if it frustrated you but--"
She was cut off by Alaric kissing her on the lips.
She stood there, shocked for a moment before pushing him away, "What the hell was that for?" she demanded, breatheless.

Mercy re-entered her room to find Jack sitting exactly as she left him.
"So, is there anything you'd like to do before I leave tomorrow morning?" she asked

"I . .. " Alaric voice fluttered, "I don't know, it's just . . ." he hesitated. There was just something he felt since they started to go on the mission. He felt like they could relate.
Gen turned away, not saying anything as she left. She felt flustered and shocked. She twisted onto the band even harder now.

"No, everything I want to do involves too much running, you'd get tired." Jack teased
Mercy rolled her eyes "Yeah right. Though it's pry best to avoid anything too potentially tiring or dangerous."

Alaric sighed, heading back towards the house to go back to Mercy. He was still swearing at himself for doing such a dumb thing. Though he had suppressed his feelings for too long.

"Maybe you just shouldn't hang out with me then." Jack said, laughing
"Ooo you think you're big and bad." Mercy said, laughing and shaking her head

Alaric headed back to his room, where Allen was laying in bed, talking to Mimi."
"You're up." Alaric breathed in relief, walking over.
Allen reddened a bit, glancing away, "Yeah . ."
"Mind telling me what happened?" he asked, crossing his arms.

"No." Jack said, reddening
Mercy laughed "I'm just teasing." she said "Let's go for a walk." she suggested
"Alright." Jack said, brightening and jumping up.

"I was just hunting, that's all." Allen muttered.
"It has to be more than that." Alaric's frowned deepened.
"There . .. there was a cub. I saw it and I killed it with one hit. I went to inspect my hit and the mother bear came and . . . that's it."
"Allen, I told you to never hunt bear." Alaric paled.

Mercy stood up and followed him out of the house.
"Let's not go far." she cautioned as he sped ahead
Jack didn't give a sign of being heard as he kept walking.

"I didn't know that I'd get attacked, I thought I could handle it." Allen sighed.
"You can't handle a giant bear on your own, you almost got yourself killed!"
"I'm sorry!" Allen said tightly.
"If Mom was here, she'd kill me for letting you get that close to danger." Alaric fumed.
"But she's not." Allen said quietly.

"Jack seriously, I can't go far." Mercy called out again. This time Jack turned around
"Fine but you're no fun." he exclaimed, slowing down

Alaric's face darkened, "Doesn't mean I still won't look after you like I've been doing since I was five."
Allen went silent, looking ashamed.
Without another word, Alaric left, closing the door behind him.

Mercy chuckled "When I get back we'll go on a giant hike through the woods. How does that sound?" she said
"Awesome!" Jack replied with a grin
"Good. Come on I have to get ready let's go back." Mercy said

Alaric shook his head, growing frustrated with all the actions that took place since he had returned home. It surprised him that he was actually looking forward to leaving.

"Oh alright." Jack said with a huff. They started walking back to the farmhouse in silence.

Alaric sat in a couch located in the parlor of the house, silently thinking over what had happened with Gen. He felt confused on why he had done what he had.

Mercy walked into the front door of the house, Jack dragging behind, and saw Alaric sitting on the couch.
"Did you get your answers?" she asked

"I guess you could say that." he muttered, rubbing th back of his head.

"What happened?" Mercy asked, hearing his tone.

"Honestly, I don't really want to talk about it." he muttered

Mercy raised an eyebrow but let the matter drop.
"Do you want to leave before dark or in the morning?" she asked

"Let's move during the night," Alaric said, almost eagerly.

"Fine by me." Mercy replied "I'll grab my stuff."
