"Of course, I'm amazed that he was able to get up so quickly." Hikaru said with a bit of awe.

Mitsuki walked alongside him, pretending not to give much of a care. She glanced around idly at the decorated hallway, wondering what she could take.

"I feel like I should have been more specific with that last comment." Kaya rolled her eyes "I'll return the favor by doing the same for you as you did for me. You know, what most normal people would've assumed I meant." she finished with a sarcastic tease.

"He's stubborn as a bull. He doesn't know his limits, and he'd rather not find out." Despite the obvious disapproval in her voice, she smiled at Taemin's back. Even though she never voiced it, she was always admired him a little bit. He was a strong boy that would make a good emperor one day.
Taemin laughed. "So THAT'S what you meant. OK. Thanks for clearing that up."

Azam watched her from the corner of his eye. She was interesting, if anything.

"No problem." Kaya chuckled

"Still, I'm shocked he'd risk his life for her, he will make a fine ruler if he will sacrifice himself for such lowly people."

"Maybe it's best if I let him rest, ya know." Mitsuki said, "I have other things to do." though it was all an act, she was afraid to see Taemin after causing his pain.

"Yes, yes he will," she agreed quietly.
Taemin grinned down at her before throwing open the conference room doors. "Oh good, you're all here," he stated upon arrival. "I have some matters to discuss with you all."
All the emperors turned to face them. Taemin's father looked particularly annoyed.
"Do you, son? And what's this important matter?"
"In case you hadn't heard, father, the city is under attack."

"Except that he's not resting," Azam pointed out.

Hikaru stood there and listened, keeping his mouth shut like he was trained to. He was only a soldier and was to talk when spoken to.

"True . . . " Mitsuki frowned, "But still. . "she said, trying to think of an excuse .

Kaya stepped into the room next to Taemin, her gaze sweeping over the other three emperors before coming to rest on her father. His eyes widened when he saw her.
"Good lord Kaya, what happened?!" he exclaimed
"What Taemin said, the city's under attack. We had a run in with some demons." she stated

Hikaru looked at his emperor and then away, ashamed. He wasn't able to protect his daughter though it was his right to.

"A 'run in' with some demons?!" Kaya's father asked angrily
"Yeah, that's what the blood is from. Don't worry it's not mine. I nearly finished one of them off before I got drug away." Kaya replied calmly
Her father looked at her in astonishment "You don't even know how to hold a blade." he said
"Yeah...about that..." Kaya said, twisting the long knives she held in her hands

"Anyway," Taemin said loudly. "Bigger problems going on. And for the record, she's excellent with a blade. Father, please tell me you're all discussing how to get rid of these things."
"It's probably just a small group. The soldiers on the street will kill them quickly."
"You're not doing anything about it?"
"The royal families are safe, and the threat will be defeated shortly. What else do you want us to do?"
Taemin's fingers curled into fists at his side. "I thought part of being emperor was to protect the people you rule over."
He sighed patronizingly. "You're young. You don't understand yet--"
"SHUT UP!" Taemin roared. "Those people out there are looking to their leader for protection and safety, and where is he? He's hiding in the palace safe and sound. I'm going back out there and fighting for them because a handful of soldiers cannot defeat what's coming."

Hikaru looked at his emperor ashamed, "I'm sorry it was my fault that she ended up fighting."

Mitsuki frowned as she heard yelling, "Hmm, i hear drama.!

"It is not." Kaya said sharply. Taemin's exclamation stopped her before she could get any further. She looked over at him with a hint of admiration in her eyes, though she didn't know if speaking to the emperor so would get them anywhere.
"Your hignesses, the group is larger than you think and the creatures are more deadly than any enemy your soldiers have ever faced before. People are going to panic, and the soldiers are not going to be enough to stop this. This can't have been an isolated incident. Perhaps speaking to the people and ensuring them you're doing everything you can to protect them would be wise." she addressed the emperors, trying a more diplomatic tactic.

Rai gripped Taemin's shoulder, pulling him back a step. He complied easily enough. Taemin's father looked to Kaya. "At least you're polite. Unlike you people, I've actually seen one or two of these in my life. Some high and mighty moron gets cocky and raises a couple dozen demons and causes trouble. The soldiers know how to deal with it."
"I have never wanted to punch someone more in my whole life," Taemin snapped.
"I should lock you up in the deepest dungeon."
"You tried that, remember?"
He scowled.
"Please, Your Grace. Send out the dragons. Each king has one. Demons fear the dragons," Rai reasoned.

"Sounded like Taemin. Want to go check it out?"

"If there isn't much of a threat the dragons will dispatch the problem easily, and if there is an actual threat, then having the dragons would be a very good thing." Kaya agreed, trying to reason with them.

"I think they're right, Your Grace."
Taemin looked to his father's Dragon King. Regulus was the youngest of the four, being 25. He was a friend. Of sorts.
"I will send mine out, at least. He needs to stretch his legs anyway. I'll help the prince and his friends. Before this attack gets out of hand."
"Thank you," Taemin said. "At least someone in this room sees sense."

"Sure it seems interesting. " Mitsuki smirked.

Kaya looked over at her father's Dragon King as well. The man shrugged
"It couldn't hurt I suppose. I'll send mine out as well."

"Thank you," Taemin breathed, relief replacing the anger.

"Let's go then." Azam quickened his pace and took a sharp right to the conference room where the noise was coming from.

"Thank you." Kaya said, inclining her head to the Dragon King. She felt reassured now that at least two dragons would be around to take care of any problems.

Mitsuki followed Azam in and glanced around at the emperors and became unsettled, "Maybe it was a bad idea to just barge in. . " she frowned.

Taemin nodded his thanks and ran a hand through his hair. "Let's get going then."

"Oi! Stop!" someone yelled down the hallway before Azam could reply.
"Something wrong?" Azam asked.
"We're here for the girl, not you," the soldier barked.

Mitsuki's eyes narrowed, "What possibly would you want me for?" she asked, her hands going towards the knives on her belt.

"You're a criminal," he stated simply. "A criminal your court has been trying to arrest for a while. And here you are, sashaying into the palace."
"Fancy word for a soldier. Sashaying," Azam mused idly.
"Such wit for an armor's apprentice. Didn't know you were smart enough to have such an intellect."

Mitsuki narrowed her eyes, "Don't be an ass to him." she said before throwing the knife at his shoulder, making sure it wouldn't go in too deep.

Hikaru headed for the exit, growing more and more concerned for the upcoming demon invasion, if it truly would occur.
