Isabella gestured for Scott and Alaric to follow. She followed on Duncan's heels, eager to end this ongoing struggle.

Levi giggled high and long - his imitation of a girl. "Oh, you're TOO kind!"

Alaric and Ross walked behind the two, refusing to make eyecontact with each other. Duncan opened the door to his office, where a map of Avon was laid out.

"Now, that's just creepy," Gen said, making a face, but smiled.

"First of all, we should avoid as many casualties as possible," Isabella said, scanning the map.

Levi laughed. "Good. That's what I was aiming for."

"Right," Duncan nodded, "Alexander must have heard rumors of the attack by now, which I expected, it's hard to surprise him. We'll have to have troops storm the city from all sides, to keep his own troops busy as we make our way to his estate."

"You're strange you know that?" she giggled.

Isabella nodded. "The gate closest to the forest is the weakest gate." She pointed to it on the map. "It's the oldest and most used. The ground over there is always damp and shifty. That'll be the easiest way in. The strongest gate is the one closest to Alexander's estate. It's the main entry into the city. That one will be the hardest to break."

"Yes, I'm aware. I've been told by many different people how strange I am."

"Hmm," Duncan said, narrowing his eyes, "We'll have to put more reinforcements in there, that gate may the the most vital one in our attempt to regain Avon."

"But that's why I like you," She smiled, kissing him on the cheek.

"I agree. Most of Alexander's forces will be stationed there, too. We can't put green boys there. The soldiers have to be experienced."

"Oh good. I'm glad my strangeness appeals to you." He wrapped her in a hug and spun her around.

"Exactly," he nodded, "I was thinking of you leading that group, Isabella."

Gen giggled, looking up at him, "Of course it does" she beamed.

She blinked at him, shocked. "Well, alright. I'd be honored."

He chuckled, kissing the tip of her nose. "Let's go in the sun. It's stuffy in here."

"You have full control on who to send in with you as well," Duncan said with a nod, "You're the most qualified."

"Okay," Gen smiled, holding onto his arm and rested her head against it.

She bowed her head. "Thank you. Do you have any specific plan for Alaric?"

He wrapped an arm around Gen's waist, leading her down the stairs and out towards the backyard.

"No," Duncan said, shaking his head, "Unless you don't want to take him along."
"I'm right here you know." He muttered.

"Next time I leave, I'm taking you with me." Gen murmured.

"Oh, right." She smiled sheepishly. "So, Alaric, would you like to join me in storming the gates?"

"Please do. It's dreadfully boring when you're not here," he replied, settling down in the grass.

"Of course I would," Alaric nodded, "It'll be fun."

Gen sat next to him and released a sigh, "I heard rumors in town about a war." she said quietly.

"The best kind of fun," she replied with a twisted grin. "Alright. Besides killing Alexander, we'll have to take out Victoria as well. She's nearly as bad as him, and she'll take over if we're not careful."

"A war? Really? Seems a bit far-fetched." They finally decide to ban together?

"Of course, his whole family either has to be killed, kept prisoner or exiled." Duncan nodded.
"Good, they don't deserve to walk freely." Alaric nodded.

"That's just what I heard," she said quietly, "I'm scared, Levi. They're going to kill many innocents."

Isabella nodded. "I agree completely. They've caused too much damage."

"That's part of war, Gen. There's no such thing as a war without casualties."

"I'll start assigning others to different gates of Avon, you should get your team organized and ready with a plan." Duncan said to Isabella.

"So, that makes it right?" Gen frowned, "What if they get to us, what if they . ." her voice wavered as tears started to form in her eyes.

Isabella nodded. "Let's go, Alaric. Scott." She led the way out to the grounds.

"I never said it was right. It was bound to happen sometime. People aren't happy," he said gently. He pulled her close. "They won't touch either of us. I promise."

"Right," Alaric nodded, following after her.

"You'll stop them, right?" she asked quietly, looking up at him.

"Scott, get Jensen and Bryce. I want them with us definitely. They're unstoppable. We won't need a huge force, just a talented one."

He hesitated before nodding. "I'll do what I can to protect you."

"Mercy may be helpful as well," Alaric suggested.

"Thank you, Levi," Gen hugged him, "I know I can always count on you. Once the rebels are gone, we can live peacefully."

"Just what I was thinking. Let's go look for her."

Levi smiled, closing his eyes. "We will." She's not herself. I'm starting to regret Reprogramming her. She's not my Gen, he thought, a weight settling in his mind and heart.

"Right," Alaric nodded, walking alongside her as he looked around.

Gen looked at him, "Is there anything else you want to do, dear?"

Isabella searched for her, mind still going every single detail of the plan repeatedly.

"No. I just want to lie here and forget the world exists," he mumbled melodramatically and smirked.
