Nik continued down, feeling like the hallway was never ending.

"Is it just me or is this a long hallway." Ava murmured

"Yeah," Nik frowned, "This is totally weird," they continued to walk, the hallway now becoming uneven and curved to the side, "What is the heck?" he frowned, "Too weird."

"And disorienting." Ava said, slowing down and trying to adjust to the new tilt of the hallway.

An odd scent filled the hallway as they neared a large door, "I guess whoever is talking to us is through there."

The door creaked open and a man dressed in red and black was lounging in a chair with a giant grin on his face, "The guests arrive. They slayed the beast just in time!"

Ava glanced back at Nik before tentatively smiling at the man. "Glad we could help." she said

"Sit, sit, sit! Enjoy a drink with me!" He said, flicking his wrists as two seats appeared.

Ava walked over to the seats, surprised. "how..." she started to wonder out loud then stopped

"Imagination my dear," the man winked, "Now take a sip of this lovely drink," he said, the drinks appearing as well.
"I don't know . . Nik hesitated.

Ava hesitantly sat down in a chair and peered at the drinks.
"What is it?" she asked

"A lovely, lovely drink" The man assured, "As a token of my thanks."
Nik hesitated, before picking up the cup by the handle.

Nik took a sip, as soon as he did, his eyes rolled in the back of his head and he toppled to the ground.

Ava barely kept herself from dropping her own cup on the ground, letting it fall on the table, as she jumped out of her seat and knelt down next to Nik.
"Nik!" she exclaimed, her voice full of alarm.

Ava turned back around without responding and gently touched Nik's shoulder, her eyes wide and watching him anxiously.

Nik seemed like he was in a peaceful sleep, his breathing even and sound.
