"So, that's what this place is called." Ava said, forcing herself to remain outside of her shell, she couldn't just stop talking to him.

"Yep, this is our humble little world." he said, leading her into one of the apartment buildings.

"The city is so....massive." Ava said, following him into the building.

"It feels smaller once you've lived here for twenty years, trust me." he said, laying Nik on the couch.

"I guess I can understand that." Ava said, looking down at Nik, still worried.

"What are you two doing here?" he asked, leaning against the wall.

"Looking for our friend, and trying to stop Heartless." Ava explained

"Well, looks like you're struggling with the Heartless part."

Ava's cheeks flushed red as she blushed, looking down at the ground in embarrassment and shyness. "We're fairly new at this." she explained without looking up.

He nodded, "But I know your weapon is the only one that can truly stop these things."

Ava looked up and nodded her affirmation "Yeah, that's what they're supposed to do."

"So, looks like you two are the only ones who can get rid of them," he sighed, "Great."

"Sorry if we aren't exactly what you hoped for." Ava said with a sigh, going back to staring down at her hands.

"I have a feeling you guys will be able to stop them," Erik said, glancing over at her, "It'll just take time."

"Yeah...hopefully." Ava said

"Rest up, you'll need to be at your top performance." Erik advised.

"Yeah." Ava said quietly, looking down at Nik again.

"There's a bed through that door." he said, gesturing towards the room to the right, "Feel free to rest there."

"Thank you." Ava said with a half smile, deciding whether she should rest now or not.

Erik nodded, "I'll leave you two alone for now." he said as he left the room

Ava leaned back against the side of the couch, running a hand through her hair. She looked down at Nik, hoping he'd wake up soon. She was worried about him, and she was all alone without him.

Nik stirred a little as he opened his eyes, disoriented.

"Nik!" Ava exclaimed quietly as he opened his eyes "Hw are you feeling?"

"Not too great . . " he muttered, rubbing the back of his head, "What happened?"

"I'm not sure, I came back and found you unconscious and this guy names Erik helped and brought you here." Ava said, speaking faster and faster as she went.
