"And endlessly entertaining." She stepped off the stairs and immediately guards appeared from the shadows.
"Oh, Isabella. What are you doing here?" one asked. They were both dressed in all black.
"I need to speak to Kashir."
"Of course. Right this way." They led the group through the tunnels to a massive, open room. Lavish decorations of golds, reds, purples, and blues lit up the space. They were remnants of Kashir's homeland.
"Beautiful Isabella, how can I help you this evening?" the dark skinned and haired man purred - his voice as silky and deep as always.

He smiled, but it faltered as little pangs of doubts pricked at his heart. "Yeah, we should. It was lovely."

"Well, you're not creepy or anything," Alaric muttered, crossing his arms.

"Good," She smiled, kissing him softly on the cheek. "I'm glad you liked it."

Kashir laughed and got to his feet. "Your friend finds Kashir creepy."
"That's because he's never met you before. Don't get too freaked out. He tends to talk in third person," she said to Alaric before turning back to Kashir. "I need your help. A man named Duncan has come from a city called Sententiae."
"Kashir has heard of this man."
"Well, he's building up an army to fight against Alexander, and he needs recruits. My rebels are joining him. He's a good man - and a great leader from what I can tell. We could use your men. We'll need their skills."
"Kashir will join. Kashir needs a good fight again. He is out of practice."
Isabella eyed him. "Yes, I can see that."
"The girl insults Kashir."
"Yes, the girl does," she joked. "Your men will need to travel there as soon as possible."
"We will move within a fortnight."
"Good. Thanks so much, Kashir."

Scott led the way out. "Alright, on to the other groups."

Levi smiled, kissing her forehead. His stomach growled. "I think the rumbling beast is getting hungry," he laughed, poking his stomach.

"Still . . .creepy." Alaric said slowly, "But thanks," he said, glancing away.

"Hopefully this will go as smoothly." Ross said.

"We'll get you the finest prepared meal in Avon at the estate, come on," she said, getting up and offered him her hand.

Kashir laughed again. "Teach the boy to lighten up."
"I'm working on it. Well, we'll be on our way out." She bowed shallowly, and Kashir did the same. She turned on a heel and headed back up the stairs.

"Most of them will agree. They know it's foolish to keep fighting on their own."

Levi took her hand and pulled herself up. "A lavish meal sounds perfect right now."

"You have some weird friends, miss." Alaric commented

"Well, some," Ross sighed, "Some are too stubborn."

"Good," she said, leaning against him.

Gen sat in her room, growing a bit anxious that Levi hadn't come to visit her. She played idly with her hair as her anxiety grew.

"Yes, but they've all saved my life several times in the past, Kashir most of all." She smiled at Israel.
"How was Kashir?"
"As bizarre as ever. Sorry you got left behind this time."
"Eh, I'll live. He freak Alaric out?"
"Oh, you have no idea," she laughed.

"There'll always be those stubborn, independent few."

Levi wrapped an arm around her shoulders, leading her back to the horses.

"What kinda guy talks in third person, seriously, that's just weird." Alaric sighed.

"Hopefully they'll change their minds once they realize the cause."

"So . . " Catherine started with a Cheshire like grin.

Israel laughed. "Kashir's a strange one. And you do NOT want to get into a knife fight with him. He'll cut you up."

"Most will. Most are loosing sight of what they're fighting for. This will remind them."

"So . . ." Levi mimicked, grinning. "That . . . that was nice."

"That's lovely," Alaric frowned, "I'll keep that in mind, thanks."

"Well, you seem capable of persuading them."

"Was it better than Gen's kiss?" She murmured.

"You know, just in case you ever the have urge," Israel joked.

He chuckled. "I've always been good at talking."

Levi paused. He could remember the ones they shared in the past. "With Gen, there's something more there. More substance to it, so hers mean more to me." He smiled apologetically. "Sorry."

"Well, as much as I love to get into random knife fights. . " Alaric smirked.

"You'll be very useful to us," he smiled.

A pang of jealousy went through Catherine, most men she kissed always said her kisses were the best, that she was the best, "That'll change in time," she winked.

"Always good fun," Isabella piped in, leading the way down the main road.

"Always willing to serve."

Levi chuckled. "I'm up for the challenge."

"You would know, you seem like the type to get into knife fights." he teased.

"Good," Catherine grinned, kissing him on the cheek.

She turned, prodding his chest. "Don't test me, boy," she warned lowly before breaking into another smile. "Only kidding!"

Levi smiled and swung onto his horse. "Let's go."

Avan stood, staring at her, "You're hot when you're scary, you know that?" he muttered.

"Right, let's fill up that stomach of yours." Catherine said lightly, leading the way once she got on her horse.

Isabella laughed. "Why, thank you Alaric. I'll take that as a compliment."

"It's begging to be filled."

"Y-yeah," he said, reddening as he realized what he said, "So, where to next?"

Catherine smirked, leading the way back towards the stable. Once they reached it, she unmounted off her horse and took off the saddle, "Ready?" she asked, looking over at Levi.

Isabella giggled. "There's an all woman one towards the center of town. They're very good with guns. They'll help us for sure."

"Definitely." He slipped the halter off Summer, tossed a couple carrots and apples into his stall and jogged to Catherine's side.

((Skipping three days into the future))

"Well, that was the last group, right?" Alaric asked, releasing a yawn, "I really hope it was."

Catherine sat down on the plush couch in the living room, idly twirling the ends of her hair as she waited for Levi.

"Yep. Everyone should be leaving by now. We should do the same," Isabella said, propping her feet up on the table. "But we should try to rescue Levi and Gen before we leave."

Levi trotted down the stairs and found Catherine in the living room. He smiled. "Hello there," he greeted, kissing her cheek.

"We can try," he nodded, "but maybe it's best to save them when we storm every estate of Alexander's. Don't get me wrong, I'm worried out of my mind for them, but that may be our only option."

Catherine smiled up at them, "Hey there," she winked, patting the couch cushion next to her as she scooted over.

Gen opened her eyes, releasing a yawn and glanced around her room, troubled. Levi had been visiting less and less these past few days and her anxiety was growing. He stood at the door, listening carefully to make sure no one was around. When it was clear, she opened the door slowly and crept down the hall.

Isabella nodded.
"He's right," Scott said, touching her shoulder.
"You're right. They'll have to hold on a little bit longer."

Levi settled down next to her, arm wrapped around her shoulders. "How're you today?"

"Don't worry, we'll get them back," Alaric smiled encouragingly.

"I'm good, how about yourself?" she asked, leaning against him, kissing his jawbone.

"I know." She smiled in return. "Well, we should get the men ready to move. I don't think we have any injured, so we should be able to move fairly quickly."

"Rested. I'm getting lazy though," he laughed, kissing her forehead in return.
