Hikaru nodded grimly, "I just wonder why they're here. No one has spotted a demon in years."

"It can't be anything good." Kaya frowned

Hikaru nodded, "We'll have to be prepared for whatever comes." he said as he led her into the estate.

"Yeah." Kaya said thoughtfully, following him inside.

((sorry was getting ready for school tomorrow.))

"I wonder why they've return." Hikaru said quietly.

(I should probably do that too lol)

"I don't know" Kaya sighed

The thought unsettled Hikaru and he stayed silent, reaching the group.

Kaya followed him, falling thoughtfully silent as well.

Hikaru looked over at her, noticing her as one of the contestants. He looked over at Rai to see what she had to say.

"I do, too," Rai echoed, lying Taemin down on one of the beds. He was unconscious. The black rot was spreading up to his throat. "Help him!" she snapped, panic setting in.
Azam touched her shoulder. "Let them work."
"You can stay. Just keep back," the nurse ordered, yanking up her sleeves and grabbing everything necessary while the monk left to the basement to collect the anti-poison.

Mitsuki looked at him, though she seemed curious and not very caring, it was driving her insane inside. She felt like she was to blame for this, something she wasn't used to.

Taemin groaned roughly and turned his head. His other hand scraped at the rotting skin. His nails left gashes in the soft skin.
"No. Stop," the nurse ordered, catching his wrist. "Rai, hold him down."
She nodded and pinned his arms to the bed while the nurse worked.

Mitsuki just stood there, the guilt started to feed through her as she watched Taemin in his pitiful state.

"My son! Where's my son?" the queen demanded, bursting in.
"Your Grace, you need to stay back," the old monk ordered, shuffling in with the vial of neon blue liquid.
"Will he be alright?"
"In time, your Grace." The nurse stepped back as the monk poured the liquid over the infected skin.
Taemin screamed and thrashed on his back. Strangled sobs interrupted the screeches.

Mitsuki moved closer towards Taemin, looking a bit more concerned, "Can I do anything?" she spoke up, surprised to hear herself say so.

"You can start by staying the hell away. This is your fault in the first place," Rai hissed.
Taemin curled one hand in Rai's sleeve. "Rai," he rasped. "Help me."
"I'm here," she soothed, kneeling down next to him. "It'll be over soon."
His face twisted into another agonized groan.

Mitsuki stood there, hurt by the realization but snapped back, "He didn't have to chase after me, so don't you dare pin this on me!"

"What did you expect? To let you die?"
"Rai, leave her be," he whispered, the pain ebbing. "Please, don't fight."
She sighed. "Fine."

Mitsuki looked away, enraged and full of guilt as she exited the room, unable to deal with all of it.

Taemin took Rai's hand, drawing from her strength.
"Oh, my dear," the queen breathed, kneeling next to her son. She looked at his arm. It was turning from black to a deep red.

Mitsuki stood outside the room, staring down at the ground. She wanted to be there for Taemin but she wasn't used to caring for others.

Azam went to Mitsuki. "You alright?"

Kaya watched with wide eyes as they healed Taemin. She hadn't realized it was as bad as it was.

Mitsuki looked at him, putting on a usual, uncaring look, "Of course," she lied with a frown, "People get hurt, it happens."

Hikaru watched, arms crossed and gnawed on his lip anxiously as he looked at how bad the wound was.

Kaya glanced at Hikaru, still shocked at the extent of damage the demon had been able to wreak.

Hikaru glanced over at Kaya, relived that she hadn't suffered the same fate as Taemin when she was alone.
