"We have to go to a new group." Mercy explained quietly as Jack grabbed the few things he had. She guided him out the door and quietly down the hallway.

"Get a few things then meet me outside, alright." he winked and headed down the stairs.

Mercy slipped outside with Jack in tow. Nonchalantly she leaned against the wall, waiting for Alaric and his siblings.

Alaric walked down the stairs, "They're coming." he assured. His heart sank as he heard the door to Lacie's office open and footsteps coming their way.

Mercy froze, her muscles tensing up. Slowly she slid her hand to her gun, ready to use it if need be.

Lacie appeared down the hallway, a hooded Sebastian at heel and blinked at the two, "What are you doing here?"

"Checking on our siblings." Mercy said, trying to keep the edge out of her voice. She didn't know if Lacie knew that they knew she was the one who'd betrayed them.

"No, I thought you guys were . . ." Her voice faltered and sighed, holding up her own gun to Alaric's forehead, who backed up a bit, "I'm sorry it had to come down to this."

Mercy pulled out her own gun and pointed it at Lacie in retaliation. "Woah woah, we aren't here to cause trouble." she said. She'd honestly like nothing better than to cause Lacie some trouble, but not with Jack right behind her.

"You two weren't suppose to come back," Lacie muttered, "You've made things . . . complicated." she aimed her gun at Mercy.
"Stop," Sebastian ordered, stepping in front of Mercy and lowered his hood.

Mercy started to see Sebastian, and was even more surprised by his actions, but she didn't lower her gun.
"What?" she demanded

"What are you doing?" Lacie demanded.
"You can't hurt her." he snapped.
"Alexander was the one who wanted her dead! Shouldn't you want her dead?"
Sebastian hesitated, but held his ground.

Mercy looked from Sebastian to Lacie and back again, thoroughly confused, but she tried to maintain some focus.

"Why did you do this, Lacie?" Alaric demanded, gun still pointed at her.
"It was the only way to get out of Alexander's debt." she hissed, "Now move out of the way, Sebastian!"
"No, you won't hurt her." he hissed, his voice changed from it's usual tone to a warmer, more familiar tone.

Mercy started at the change in Sebastian's voice. It rang in her ears with a familiar tone and unnerved her. Forcing herself to concentrate, she looked at Lacie.
"Why were you in his debt in the first place?" she asked, trying to keep her voice steady.

Lacie ignored the question and shot at Alaric, but her arms shook, causing her aim to be off and the bullet went through the wall, inches away from Alaric.
"Stop it, Lacie." Sebastian roared
"Why do you care so much?" Lacie demanded.
"Because I love her!" Sebastian surprised himself as he said it.

"What?!?" Mercy exclaimed in surprise, turning to stare at Sebastian, wide eyed. She looked him up and down, the same haunting familiarity striking her.

Lacie just stared, "That's ridiculous." she snapped, aiming her gun at Lacie. Before she could pull the trigger, Sebastian shot her in the shoulder, causing her to stumble back in pain.
"Get out of here, now." Sebastian ordered. Mimi and Allen came running down the stairs, wide eyed at what was happening.
Alaric hesitated before nodding, the safety of his siblings came before anything.
"C'mon!" he said, taking Mimi's hand and headed towards the door.

Mercy grabbed Jack's hand and followed after Alaric, casting a puzzled backward glance at Sebastian. Who did he remind her of?

Sebastian glanced over his shoulder as the group left.
"What the hell was that about?" Laice hissed.
"I don't know," Sebastian said quietly, but kept his gun trained on her.

Alaric continued to run towards the treeline, not slowing down until he met his destination.

Mercy followed, guiding Jack along in front of her. When she reached the trees she stopped, looking back again thoughtfully.

((Up to you, man.))

"So, what the hell was that?" Alaric asked, out of breath.

(okays cool then)

"I'm trying to figure that out." Mercy said, knotting her eyebrows together and staring down at the ground in thought. Sebastian's voice had sounded so familiar for a split second, and the way he'd acted and what he'd said...she racked her memory, and after a moment something clicked, and she placed his voice. "That's impossible." she whispered to herself.

"What's impossible?" Alaric frowned, "You're not making a lot of sense."

"Sebastian, I realized who he reminds me of, he reminds of Ben." Mercy explained "But that's ridiculous and impossible and all kinds of crazy." she shook her head.
