Colin's face lit up at Fang's praise. "Really?" He watched the tiny fires set to the leaves dwindle into smoke. "I guess I should, huh?" He laughed once, mostly to himself. "Such a far cry from home."

Fang looked at him sadly, "You've made it a long way my friend."
Chloe headed towards the gates of the town and saw the figures of Colin and Fang in the distance. She decided to wait a little so she wouldn't just barge in.

He smiled distantly. "I wonder what the reactions would be if anyone from home saw me now." His smile turned bitter and afraid. "Probably execution. If I was lucky." He shook his head, forcing the smile to return. He returned to Fang's side, thankful now more than ever to have a friend he didn't have to hide anything from.

Fang looked at him sadly, "It's in the past, Colin. You'll never have to go there again. But if you ever did, you wouldn't be alone," he smiled slightly, "I'd be there kicking the ass of whoever tries to hurt you."

Colin nodded, meeting his eyes. "I don't doubt that. At all." He looked past Fang, squinted his eyes, and laughed. "We have an audience of one." Colin waved to Chloe. "The bromance moment is done! It's safe to come over!"

Fang looked over as well and smiled, "Hey, Chloe, what's up?"
Chloe walked over, her hands on the strap of her cat shaped backpack, "I just thought I should tell you guys, we've got ourselves a mission."

"Great. Who or what are we going after?" Colin asked, propping one elbow up on Fang's shoulder and leaning against him.

Chloe smiled at the two, although they weren't related, they seemed like brothers, "Death's Bloom members that are causing some issues around here."
Fang frowned, "She's not coming with us, is she?"
"Yes, she is. She's good, despite her background." Chloe assured.

Colin patted Fang's back. "Give her a chance. She could be a highly valuable ally if she's truly on our side." He grinned at Chloe. "Sounds like fun. As long as they avoid the left side of my face, we'll be good."

Fang looked over at Colin for a moment then released a sigh, "If you think so, then alright, I'll give her a chance."
"Good," Chloe said pleased, "And we'll make sure to protect your charming face, Colin." She grinned.

"My charming face thanks you." He smiled at Fang. "Hey, maybe you'll end up besties and make friendship bracelets together."

Jade has followed behind Chloe, not saying much. She was nervous about going on a mission where they might run into people she knew...but maybe that would help. Everyone but Fang seemed to not mind all that much.

Marco sat in the back and followed them, holding Waffles. He wanted to keep distance from Fang. He felt incredibly insecure about how he was acting and felt it best to keep an eye out.

Waffles let out a yawn. "You tired boy?" Marco asked. Waffles started falling asleep. "Alright, I'll send you back for a bit," and Waffles faded away back into a dream.

"Let's not get too far." he muttered, glancing back at Jade. He felt unease still, but forced himself to get over it.
"Their location isn't very far from here." Chloe announced.

"What exactly does Balthasar want us to do once we find them." Jade said, walking up next to Chloe.

"He doesn't want them dead, I think he just wants to scare them into not coming back here." Chloe explained and shot her a look of sympathy, "You know you don't have to come, I didn't know we'd be given a mission for Death's Bloom."

"I can help though." Jade said, shaking her head "Especially if I know them."

Fang listened to Jade, a little surprised by her willingness.
"If you're sure . .. " Chloe said, feeling badly.

"I'm sure." Jade said with a half smile. She was half praying she wouldn't know them, but if she did they might be reasonable and leave, depending on who it was.

"Very well then," Chloe said, brightening up, "Let's do this."

Jade nodded, growing serious. She glanced around at the others, hoping this went easily.

Colin clapped his hands once. "Brilliant. So, when do we start?"

"Right now, let's get on it now. Sooner the better." Chloe said, "Besides, their not too far away."

"How many do you think there are?" Jade asked Chloe

"Balthasar said it was a small group," Chloe responded, "So probably anywhere from 2-5 people. Hopefully there won't be too many."
