Faith's Edge RP

Fire exploded from Colin's mouth - not aimed at Fang but at Skylar. He dodged Fang and whirled around, daggers flying from his hands. They followed the flames.

Skylar grunted as the flames burnt his skin.
Fang growled low in his throat and attempted to tackle into Colin, "I'll kill you" he roared.

"I know how you fight, Fang! You'll have to try harder." Colin's hands morphed into claws. He lunged at Skylar. "Let go of him!" he screamed, slashing for his face.

Skylar stumbled back, blood dripped down his face "No way, I refuse. I'll make it permanent if I must." he threatened.

"No, you won't! I won't let you!" Colin roared, another trail of flame bursting from his mouth. He lashed out with his claws in the same moment. "LET GO OF MY FRIEND!"

Skylar took a few steps back, almost frightened by the boy and his power.

Colin's speed and strength doubled with the adrenaline and the dragon blood that pumped through his veins. He threw blow after blow at Skylar, imagining ripping his face from his head. "You pissed off the wrong person!"

Skylar swore, being continuously burnt, "I'll stop it, I'll stop it!" he yelled.

"Now," Colin snarled viciously, poised for another attack. He moved closer to Fang, standing between him and Skylar.

"Fine, fine." Skylar said quickly and waved his hand and Fang collapsed to the ground, his emotions draining him.

Colin dropped down next to Fang, hand on his shoulder. The blood coating his arm was beginning to dry, but the pain still pounded through his body like a drumbeat. He ignored it. All he cared about was Fang, right now. "My friend, please look at me."

Fang's eyes fluttered open. His thin lips uttered the words, "I'm sorry." before they fluttered close.

"No, no, no, no," Colin muttered, pulling Fang into his arms. "Stay awake. Please." He sniffed, looking Fang over. There weren't any life-threatening injuries at least. Colin lifted Fang and carried him back towards the road. He listened for any shifts in heart rate or breathing. Both remained fairly steady.

Fang felt over tired from all the emotions from today, he couldn't even open his eyes. His head lolled to side as Colin carried them. He was awake but too tired to move.

Colin lied him down on the grass and sunk to his knees beside him. His whole body throbbed. His heart and soul ached. He wiped away the tears that ran down his face. He missed the last. He watched it fall and land on Fang's hand. He sighed, fighting for control over his emotions. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," he whispered, looking down at his hands - one white and one red. "I caused all this."

Fang's hand twitched as the tear made contact, "D-don't worry about it." he said quietly.

Colin smiled sadly. "Looks like I'm protecting you for once, huh? That's a change. Do . . . do you still want me to leave?" The thought of being alone again shook him to the core. It terrified him, but he didn't want to be a burden. Maybe it would be for the best.

"Never." Fang said and opened his eyes, "Don't you ever dare leave."

Colin smiled, his whole face lighting up. He laughed with relief. The panic and terror vanished like fog in the sunlight. "Never," he promised.

"Good," Fang smiled, "I never meant a thing I said, I'm sorry."

"I didn't mean any of that. I've never been more grateful for any single person. Anything I say to the contrary is a lie."

"It's interesting, the man that tried to drive us apart actually brought us closer." Fang said with a slight smile.

"Fail," Colin joked. He gritted his teeth as a fresh wave of pain coursed through his arm up to his neck. He touched the wound. It burned. The skin was red and puffy with infection underneath. He frowned, grinding his teeth together. He flexed his fingers. They still functioned - a sign that the nerves weren't too badly damaged - but they were numb as if they were falling asleep.

Fang looked at him, horrified, "I . . . I never meant to do that, I'm sorry." he said in a whisper, ashamed.

"No, I know. I don't blame you," he murmured soothingly. He wiped away what little blood he could and winced at the damage underneath. His skin and muscles were torn to shreds from where Fang's teeth and claws had dragged down his arm. "But I need to get this cleaned before the infection sets in anymore." He looked back at the trees. "Do you think the girls can handle themselves?"
