"No blaming here." He kissed her neck. "Five years," he whispered against her skin.

Colton nodded and rolled onto his stomach. "Sorry, Ashlee," he mumbled before closing his eyes.

Jennings blinked awake and sat down next to Ash. "I'm right here," he said, patting his head.

Kieran watched Ezra storm by. "What'd he do now?"

"But it feels like a lifetime." She whispered back, feeling elated to be with Levi. Everything felt right, having his warmth near. She knew Levi wasn't completly back, it would take a while, but this was progress. She lifted herself up to blow on the candle before nestling up against Levi and lightly biting his lip.

Ashlee released a sigh, "Not your fault, just rest up." she smiled before turning off the light and exiting.

"Jennings." Ash whispered, looking at him with tears in his eyes, "Please, never leave me alone. The dark scares me."

"He's with that little bitch." Erza sneered, "She's ruining everything!"

He chuckled and kissed her gently.

"I'm staying right here," Jennings promised.

Kieran sighed. "I warned him about this."

Gen whispered, "I'll love you forever and always." She kissed him on his jaw.

"I'm afraid to die." He whimpered pathetically

"We have to end this." Erza sneered, "or else everything is going to fall apart."

Alaric groaned as he flushed the toilet after vomiting violently. "Damn sickness." He grumbled before washing his face and stumbled back to the bed, the room reeling.

"Likewise," he whispered against her neck.

"I won't let you die," Jennings promised gently.

"Agreed. Any ideas other than forcibly dragging him away?"

Gen kissed his chest and made her way up his body until her lips met his.

Ash blinked before smiling widely, "Thank you, Jennings." he whispered, "Death won't take me when you're here."

"Sabotage perhaps?" She suggested with a wicked smirk.

Levi's breath hitched in his throat. He smiled against her lips.

"Of course it won't! I'll fight him off! With my fists." He punched the air rapidly, adding his own side effects as he did so.

"And how do you propose we do that?"

Isabella tossed the pen onto the desk and rubbed her eyes. Everything was sorted. She looked up as a knock interrupted her yawn. "Come in!"
The king stepped in, and she stood immediately.
"No, no, don't stand. I was just concerned about Alaric being sick. Is there anything I can do to help?"
"Not at the moment, no. I finished up his work for today and tomorrow. I think he'll be fine with some rest. Thank you though."
"Alright. If the sickness continues, don't hesitate to ask for help."
She smiled. "Thank you very much."
"Have a good evening, milady."
"You as well, milord," she replied with a short nod.

Gen broke away for a moment before unbuttoning Levi's tunic.

Ash giggled a little, color returning to his face, "Let's play a game!"

"What if Levi saw Gen with another man." She smirked

Alaric once again attempted to get back to his feet as he stumbled towards his office. Hia eyes were red and his skin flushed with dark circles under his eyes.

He watched Gen, one hand guiding her arm.

"Sure! What do you want to play?" He bounced lightly on the bed, enjoying the squeak.

"That would work. That would work really well," he agreed, mirroring her grin.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa," Isabella chided, gripping Alaric's shoulders. "You need to be in bed."
The king (who I still can't remember the name for) raised an eyebrow. "He looks sicker than what some sleep can take care of. Maybe I should take over his duties for the next couple days so can tend to him? He needs you, and I'm here to help."

"This time it's for real." She murmured as she laid back down on the bed.

"Let's play heroes! " he grinned excitedly

"Let's set this plan in motion then. " Erza murmured wickedly.

Alaric shook his head, "No. I have to start working again." He said stubbornly as he moved forward and fell to his knees as he felt vertigo.

"As opposed to last time when it was fake?" he teased.

"Yay! Do you wanna be the hero or the bad guy this time? You should be the hero."

"Let's get working."

Isabella caught Alaric under the arm and pulled him up. "Will you please? He won't be in any shape to move, much less work. Thank you very much."
The king smiled and bowed his head. "Anything for to restore Alaric's good health."
Isabella returned the smile. "Let's get you back to bed before you throw up on all our shoes."

"Well last time we were here like this I wasn't myself. " she kissed him as she recalled being reprogrammed but that didn't matter now. Not anymore.

"I think we should both be good this time!" He grinned, "The two hero brothers!"

"Let's. " Erza smirked heading towards the estate

Alaric sighed and nodded walking alongside her, "Damn sickness." He grumbled.

"True," he acknowledged, nipping at her neck.

Jennings grinned. "And we'll fight the bad guys together!"

Kieran grinned and followed at her heels.

"I know. You'll get over it faster the more you rest." She lowered him onto the bed and kissed his sweaty forehead. "I'll bring you some medicine for the vomiting."

Gen giggled as she bit his bottom lip lightly.

"Okay!" Ash grinned, sitting up in his bed.

"I'll play the role of Gen." Erza declared, "To fool Levi. "

"Thank you. Dear." He smiled as he looked at her with unfocused eyes, "I hope the king will be okay doing the work all alone."

Jennings rummaged through the closet until he found two wooden swords and a massive stuffed animal bear. "He's the bad guy."

"Think he'll fall for it?"

"He'll manage it just fine."

"Okay." Ash nodded, a wide smile on his face. He almost seemed back to his normal self beside his pale face and dark eyes. He took the sword and stood up on the bed with shaky legs.

"We'll just have to be convincing." She smirked, "The fool has been away from her for five years. She could have found someone else and kept it from him. That wouldn't be a big shocker."

"Tomorrow though I will be back on my feet." Alaric vowed, groaning as the room spun.

Ashlee stood at the doorway of Alaric's office and frowned at her father, "Looks like you got what you want." she said, arms crossed. She put the pieces of her father's plan together, not knowing a thing since she had been gone for so long.

Jennings grinned with him. "Let's kill some bad guys!"

Kieran snorted. "Very true. I'd be shocked if she hadn't."

"No, you won't. Now sleep," she ordered, poking his chest.

Her father looked up. "I don't know what you're talking about, dear," he said innocently.

"Yay!" Ash cheered, thrusting his toy sword in the air.

"I'll go get ready to trick him. Tell me when you have him to put the plan in motion.

Alaric sighed, "Okay dear." He said in defeat.

"Don't treat me like a child, please father. " Ashlee frowned before leaning forward on his desk.

Jennings launched after him, cutting down the invisible bad guys.

"On it. This is going to be terribly awkward," he complained dramatically as he walked away.

"Good boy," Isabella joked

He looked up again. "You are still a child."

Ash slashed and stabbed at invisible enemies and grinned, "We're unstoppable! "

Erza smirked before preparing herself for deceiving Levi.

"I still can't believe I'm bloody sick." He grumbled.

Ashlee glared, "I'm twenty four father and I'm trained, skilled and educated. Atop treating me like I'm inferior."

Gen smiled as she laid her head on his chest and kissed his cheek.

"Of course we are!"

Kieran walked slowly. "Please be done."

Isabella chuckled. "You'll be over it soon."

"Explain to me what I've done wrong, Ashlee. What have I done that's so evil?"

Ash dove forward and stabbed at another invisible enemy, "We've gotta get to the evil bear!"

"I hope, I never get sick though." he groaned, "I hate this." he kept complaining.

Ashlee sighed, "You're not being evil, exactly, you're just so deceiving towards the people here. I know you're helping this place out only for personal gain though." she shook her head, conflicted, "It just doesn't seem right."

"Bear? I thought it was a dragon."

"It won't be long. I'll make sure of it. Now sleep." She kissed his forehead.

"Well, while you figure out what you believe, I have a city to help protect."

Levi rubbed Gen's bare back and kissed her shoulder, smiling.

"Oh, right!" Ash reddened, looking at the stuffed bear, "The dragon, of course! Let's slay it!" he grinned.

"You're too good to me, dear." He smiled before closing his eyes.

Ashlee huffed, "It doesn't help that you don't tell me anything father. You sent me away for a year and then I come back to see you co-ruling a town. You leave me only to assume things."

"I love you." she whispered against his neck.

"Well look at those teeth. Obviously dragon like," he said, giggling.

"You are my husband," she reminded with a smile.

"I love you, too," he murmured against her skin.
