"Right, right. I'll give you time." she nodded, sitting down in the chair across from him.

Kit nodded his thanks and focused on a spot on the wall. He cleared his mind, letting his memories, concentration, and clarity mend itself.

Alice grew worried about the others and how they were fairing with the carnival. She centered her mind on finding a way to stop whoever, or whatever, was to blame for it.

Once Kit's thoughts sped up to their usual pace, he blinked and focused on Alice again. "It's not a Reaper. They're not strong enough, and unless an Angel has a sick sense of humor, I think it might be a demon."

"A demon? " she paled, "How can we even beat one?" Alice sighed.

"I . . . I don't know," he admitted with a sigh.

"Well we can't just run in and try to face him, after all, if we go back to the carnival you may be sucked in again." Alice pointed out.

Ethan stood a few yards away from the carnival, he felt high on his new power. He continued to destroy things with wicked glee that wasn't his own.

"I'll be fine. I won't fall for it again."

Abbadon stood next to Ethan. "Enjoying your prize?"

"You better not. I mean, I saw Ethan out beat you at something." Alice teased, "That was bad."

Ethan looked over at him, grinning wickedly, "I love it." he said with glee, "I never want to go back to normal now."

Kit scowled. "But you shouldn't go there alone."

"And you won't have to. If you stay with me, that is."

"You can come if you want Kit, I'm just warning you it might turn out bad." Alice said, standing up.

Ethan hesitated for a moment, "But . . my brother .. "

"I need to find Hakkam, anyway. Make sure he's OK."

"Will think you're a monster," Abbadon finished coolly.

"Let's go then." Alice said, going to the weapon rack and grabbed her usual metal bat.

Ethan nodded, looking conflicted, "I don't know what I should do." he said quietly.

Kit claimed his brass knuckles and followed.

"That depends. Do you want power or the weakness of friends?"

"We've gotta try to snap the Hakkam and Sam out of it, they're our best bet to stopping the demon." Alice said.

Ethan hesitated, he loved his brother, he was the most important thing to him . . but the power he had, he couldn't let it go. He smirked wickedly, "The poor, I don't need friends."

Kit nodded once. "They'll know what to do."

Abbadon grinned. "No, you don't. You're stronger without them. They don't understand how powerful and talented you really are."

Alice slowed down a bit as they reached the carnival. She looked over at him, "Are you ready?"

"You're right." Ethan nodded "Especially Kit," he sneered, "He treats me like I'm no good. I'll show him."

He met her eyes. "Yeah. I'll be fine. Let's go."

"Kit? Ah, yes, the sociopathic one."

Alice led the way through, the music was growing louder, but it didn't seem to draw her in, "Any sign of them?"

"Yes." Ethan nodded, "I want nothing more then to rid this place of him."

"Not yet," he stated, skimming the carnival.

"And now you can. It'll be easy. Like squashing a bug."

"I bet Sam is still at the can game, but I'm more worried about your friends condition. What would he pride most?"

He grinned wickedly, "Thank you for this power."

"His physical strength. He might kill himself if he goes too far. I'll go look for him. I think I know where he'd be."

"You were worthy."

"Want me to come with?" Alice asked, "In case you need help?"

"It's time for me to finally should the kid what I've got." he said, and headed back into the carnival.

"Yeah. I, ah, I'll need back-up," he admitted, clearing his throat.

"Go get him," Abaddon said lowly. A slow, wicked grin spread over his face.

Alice smiled at that and nodded, "Let's go then."

Ethan set up to find Kit, an anger burning towards the guy
