"Guns does sound interesting . . . but perhaps we should go in casually with our guns very, very close."

Gen was silent for a long moment before responding in a whisper, "My brother."

"Sounds like a plan. Let's go." She flashed a grin and started for the tavern.

"I'm so sorry, Gen," he murmured.

"Awesome." Alaric said, following after her, hoping for the best an that it wasn't a trap.

She didn't respond, and only looked up as the door knocked and Vincent's voice came through.
"I need to talk to you, Levi. We have a situation."

Isabella slipped into the bar, eyes scanning the room.

Levi nodded. "Alright." He kissed Gen's cheek before following him into the hall.

Alaric looked around, seeing nothing out of the ordinary and started to relax a little, but still stayed on guard.

Gen watched him for a moment before releasing a small sigh, "Please don't get into any trouble." she said quietly.
Vincent looked at Levi, "We have a girl who was used as bait for a rebel group, which you will bring down." he reported.

Levi nodded. "OK . . . where is this girl?"

"Downstairs, follow me." he said, leading him down the spiral staircase into the living room, where a bloodied Gina was sitting, her frail body shaking and her blue eyes full of fear.

Levi's eyes widened. "Who did this to her?"

Gina's voice wavered as she started to speak, more tears ran down her face, "A-a girl in the woods. S-she said she'd help me get revenge on the p-people who hurt me. She u-used me as bait," she sobbed, "She let this happen to me so I ran."
"You left out the name," Vincent said kindly.
"She called herself I-Isabella."

Levi stumbled backwards like he had been struck. "That's . . . impossible. I know her. She'd never do that."

"She did," Gina cried, "S-she said it was the only way to get back at them! I w-wouldn't have agreed if I had known this would happen."

Gen sat in her room, distantly hearing the cries of a girl and tensed up, feeling at unease with whatever Vincent had in plan for Levi.

Levi looked between Gina and Vincent. "I want more proof. I want to hear Isabella say that she's seen the girl."

Once Victoria finished drying, she changed into an elegant, light green silk dress. She let her hair fall naturally around her shoulders and made her way to Gen's room. She knocked on the door before letting herself in. "How are you feeling, Gen? Need your bandages changed or more pain medicine?"

"You'll have an opportunity to ask her," Vincent said and looked over at Gina, "Where did you say she was heading next?"
"To a tavern in town." she replied quietly, "I-I don't want to go there." she said quickly.
"Don't worry, Levi'll go for you." he said gently.

Gen looked up at her, and she felt her blood turn to ice as she scooted further onto the bed, "No, I'm good." she said slowly and carefully.

Levi nodded. "I leave now."

Victoria smirked delicately at her reaction. "Don't worry yourself. I've promised Levi I wouldn't harm you, and say what you want about me, but I don't go back on my word."

"Good, hopefully you'll find the answers you're looking for." Vincent said, "If you want, I can help you with this."

Gen narrowed her eyes at Victoria, "What do you want?" she asked hostilely.

Levi hesitated. "Alright, in case things get out of hand. But I will do the asking and you will not harm Isabella. No matter what she's done, I'll handle it, deal?"

"I came to issue a warning and a favor. Levi's in a very delicate state. The only reason you're here and still alive to is to keep him here, but that doesn't help my cause at all. If you keep filling his head with these goody-goody notions, he won't develop his true abilities. The next time I hear of you trying to convert him, I'll take away someone you hold very dear." Her mouth quirked into a thin, manipulative smile. Her hands were clasped in front of her. There was nothing dangerous or threatening about her stance or tone, nothing but her words. "Remember dear old Ben? You thought he was dead. I'm here to tell you that he's not. You might want to try and keep him that way."

"Of course," Vincent said with a shallow bow, "If that's what you want, then let's get going."

Gen froze, tears started to make their way towards the surface of her eyes, "You're lying." she said coldly, "I saw him get shot, he's dead." Why is she saying this? Is she trying to trick me . . ? It just didn't make sense.

Levi nodded, satisfied, and led the way out.

"I don't make empty threats. Too many things could go wrong if Ben wasn't actually alive. Of course, he doesn't remember you or his own name, in fact, but he's very much alive."

"It isn't too far away, so be ready." Vincent warned, leading the way towards their destination.

"If this is true, I want to see him," Gen said, a few tears falling down her cheek.

Levi nodded, walking in stride with him. He rested one hand on his gun.

"Very well. I'll discuss the matter with Alexander." She nodded curtly. "I hope you have a speedy recovery."

Vincent stopped as they neared the tavern, "We'll go through the back entrance, be stealthy, they may shoot on sight."

"Wait," Gen asked before hesitating, disliking the position she was in, "I just have to not help him hold onto who he is, right?" her voice shaking a little, "I don't have to help convert him in anyway, do I?"

Levi nodded. "Lead the way. I've never been to this one before."

"Correct. After all, your heart is too pure to convince him to do anything you don't believe in."

"It's not exactly the finest." Vincent said in distaste as he opened the door from the back and crept inside.

Alaric looked around, frowning, "Doesn't look like there's anyone here."

Gen looked at her for a long moment before nodding reluctantly, "Fine, I'll do as you say." she said in defeat. If Ben was alive, she couldn't bare having to go through his death again.

"Mm. Apparently." He crept in behind, moving silently.

Isabella glanced around, growing more and more nervous as the seconds ticked by. "Maybe they're upstairs or downstairs?"

Victoria smiled. "Thank you, my dear. You've been most helpful." She slipped out the door and went to find Alexander.

Vincent realized they were in the basement of the tavern and heard faint voices coming from above and smirked.

"We can check both, should we split up?"

Gen waited until Victoria walked down the hall before muttering, "B*tch."

Alexander sat in the parlor, a glass of red wine in his hand as a servant played the harp nearby him.
