"My dad knows about us." He sat down next to her. "I don't know what he'll do."

He fired another cold glare over his shoulder but didn't answer. Let her figure it out on her own. Levi marched up the stairs.

Claudia looked at him with shock, "How could he have possibly found out? We hid it so well!"

Gen followed growing more confused, "Levi, please talk to me! What are you doing?"

Alaric woke with a groan and jolted up and raced to the bathroom before doubling over and vomiting into the toilet with another groan.

"He may or may not have gotten me drunk . . ." he admitted, blushing. He rubbed the back of his neck.

"I'm taking Ash and leaving. I'm leaving you and everyone else behind for good. I've had enough of the backstabbing heartache."

Claudia sighed, "Im really not that shocked. You are unpredictable when drunk." She looked at him intently, "What should we do?"

Gen blinked, dropping the box she was holding. Her voice shook, "You are not taking my son." She was stricken of his sudden change but wouldn't let him take Ash away.

"I . . . I don't know. I don't know what he'll do. We might just have to wait."

"He won't get the help he needs here. He'll get sicker because the sickness is everywhere. He'll be better off with me."

"We can't let him tear us apart. " Claudia said as she held onto his hand.

Gen started to cry, realizing he was right, Ash would die if he stayed here. She fell to her knees, "Why are you torturing me like this? "
Ash tousled a bit in his sleep though he seemed peaceful

Colton kissed her fingers. "I won't let him," he promised.

"Think hard about that, Gen. I'm sure you'll come up with an answer."

Claudia sighed and looked away, "Why were we cursed with being in rival kingdoms? This is hardly fair."

Gen's tears burned her eyes, "I don't know you bastard! Child stealing bastard! " she yelled and threw her heeled shoe at him, hysterical.

"I know. It's like Romeo and Juliet except I don't plan on killing myself."

The shoe hit him in the back. He ignored it and walked into the boys' room. He knelt down in front of the bed, putting on a mask of tenderness. "I know how I can help Ash get better, but I have to take him away from here for a little while, OK?"
Jennings blinked at him. "But why can't he stay here?"
"Because the sickness is in the air. He'll only get worse. He needs fresh air away from the city. Only until he gets better."
The little boy hesitated again, but he wanted Ash better. "OK . . ."

"Nor do I, let's not do that. " Claudia said with a small smile before kissing him.

Ash stirred awake, "Daddy?" He murmured sleepily, "What's going on?" He yawned.

Erza smirked, back in her regular gear, "That worked perfectly. " she purred.

"I'd rather not, if it could be avoided."

He smiled again - gently this time. "I'm going to take you someplace where you can get better. It'll only be for a little while."

Kieran grinned. He had seen the whole thing. "Perfect."

"I assume it can." Claudia smiled for a moment but it wavered, "I should go and check on Alaric soon. He seems to be rather ill." she said, not voicing her suspicion of it.

"Can't Jennings and Mommy come to?" Ash whined, looking at his brother sadly, not wanting to leave him.

"Now we can get back to the way things were meant to be planned." Erza grinned wickedly, "Everything will fall."

"It was a joke, relax. I won't let anything happen to us," he promised, kissing her nose. "Yeah. Send him my best wishes. He needs to get back on his feet soon."

"I'm afraid not. I don't want to risk them getting sick, too. Once you're better, you can come back."

Kieran nodded, satisfied. "He had his fun, now it's time to remember why we're here in the first place."

Claudia smiled and nodded, kissing him lightly on the lips. She supposed trying to hide their relationship was meaningless now, "I will, stay out of trouble. And no drinking." she joked lightly.

Ash looked upset but nodded, "Okay." he said and hugged Jennings, "I'll be back soon." he promised, a smile on his face.

"So we'll just have to wait for him to give the word." Erza said, full of excitement, her steel colored eyes glistening.

Colton chuckled, kissing her back briefly. "I'll stay clean and sober. I promise."

Jennings hugged him tight around the neck before letting him go. Tears rolled down his face, but he knew it was for the best. Levi would make him better.
Levi picked Ash up gently and cradled him against his chest. "Time to get you better."

Kieran's mouth twitched into a wicked half smile.

Claudia smiled, tapping him on the nose, "Good. I'll see you tonight." She smiled before heading inside the estate.

Ash looked over at Jennings, tears leaking from his own green eyes. He didn't want to be away from his brother, but he knew it was for the best, "Okay." Ash said quietly, his voice quavering a bit, "What about Mommy? Can I say goodbye to her too?"

Erza looked up at the sky with a smirk, "See, we work well together."

Colton watched her go, smiling to himself.

Levi hesitated before nodding. "Be quick, alright?" he said gently, setting him down. He stayed at the corner though, watching the two of them carefully.

"When we have to," Kieran agreed.

Ash ran to his mother, seeing her pale faced and her eyes red, "Mommy!" he said, hugging her. She knelt down and hugged him close, trying to hold back tears.
"Daddy said I'll be back when I'm better." Ash said with a smile, though he looked sad to say goodbye, but he sounded excited to go with his father.
"Ashton," Gen said, shaking a bit as she held him back, looking him in the eyes, "Know I always love you, and you are always in my heart, no matter what happens." she said sadly, a few tears leaking.
Ash blinked at her, confused by her tears but smiled at her and nodded, "I'll always love you too, mommy!" he promised and she kissed him on the forehead before hugging him close before releasing him, shortly making eye contact before looking back at Ash and ruffled his hair, "I love you." she said, brokenly.
"I love you too." Ash repeated and smiled cheerfully before running back to Levi, coughing a bit.
Gen looked at the two, visibly crying, unable to hold it back.

Levi didn't speak to her. He spared a glance over his shoulder before sweeping Ash into his arms. He pushed the boy's overlong hair out of his face and kissed his forehead. "We'll have fun, you and me."

Ash beamed up at him happily, "Yay! I'm happy to be with you, Daddy." he said happily, though he looked a bit sad as he looked back at the estate, "When will we come back home, though? To Mommy and Jennings?"

Erza glanced back as she saw Levi and Ash. She raised an eyebrow, "He's bringing a kid?"

"Once you're healthy and strong. I'll teach you how to be strong like me and Alaric. Wouldn't you like to show them your strength when you come back?" he asked, kissing Ash's forehead.

Kieran frowned. "It appears so."

Ash beamed up at him and nodded, "Yes, of course!" he exclaimed.
Erza frowned, "This better not get in the way." she said coolly.

"Good." He smiled down at his son. "Then that's what we'll do."
"We might have to take care of him if he does get in the way."

Ash nodded, his green eyes full of excitement, "Let's go then!" he said eagerly.
"It will be interesting if it turns out that way." Erza said, amused.
