"I dunno." She admitted, "Whatever you'd like to do."

Drake got off of his bed and followed after him, his footsteps echoing across the hall.

Skylar poked his head in. "You two up for some friendly competition?"
"Depends, what's the competition?" Avan asked.
"Apparently, grandfather just acquired three pureblooded Arabian horses. Best of the best. Wanna do a little race through the grounds?"
"I'm game. Do you ride, Dawn?"

Leo sprinted down the stairs and out to the small garage in the backyard. He unlocked the door and threw it open. "We have . . . go carts! State of the art go carts. These aren't even legal in most states. And. We have a kick-ass course. Wanna go for a little drive, Drake? It's like Mario Cart, but in real life."

"I haven't." Dawn admitted, "But I'll watch you guys." She smiled.

"Woah, kick ass." he grinned, "I'm in. Can I throw bananas onto the track?"

"You can ride with me. Maybe you'll learn a thing or two," Avan said, getting to his feet and offering Dawn his hand.

Leo laughed. "Whatever you want, dude. Choose one." He made a beeline for the silver and black one and lowered down into it. He grabbed the key under the seat and jammed it into the ignition. "Key's under the seat, by the way."

"If you're sure." Dawn said, taking his hand and got up to her feet.

"Alright." Nik said, jumping into a red and black cart and put the key in the ignition, "Ready to lose?"

"Of course I'm sure! Come on." He pulled Dawn after him and fell in pace with Skylar.

"I'm sorry. I don't know the meaning of that word." He revved the engine. An automated voice above them droned: "Three . . . two . . . one. Go!"
Leo sped out of the garage and down the dirt path through the grounds.

Dawn walked alongside him, glancing around idly. She still was nervous to meet the rest of Avan's family, nothing could dispel that. She was especially nervous for seeing his uncle again.

Drake pulled out, following the track as he pressed down harder on the gas.

"How many horses did he get?"
"Six."
"Six?! Must've cost him a fortune."
"Well, you know grandpa. He always knows a guy."
Avan laughed. "Very, very true."

Leo whooped as he shot around a tight, steep turn into the manmade forest.

"You guys are insane." Dawn said, shaking her head in disbelief, "Six freaking horses?"

Drake followed close behind, he began to advance on Leo and grinned over at him when they were going the same speed.

"Yep! He loves his horses," Avan replied, laughing. He held the door open for Skylar and Dawn.

Leo laughed. "You're good, I'll admit!" he yelled over the engines.

"I guess so." Dawn smirked following them out, "I've never even been on a horse since some birthday party when I was seven. I started crying when I got on." She recalled with a smirk.

"Damn right I'm good!" He yelled back, starting to pull ahead

"Well, I'll be there to help you out," Avan said, opening the stable doors. He gasped. "They're beautiful," he murmured, walking for the closes horse. He was all black, lean, glossy, muscled, and young. "Hey, boy," he soothed, holding out his hand. The horse nickered and pushed his muzzle into Avan's palm. He tossed his mane and whinnied happily.

"No! You're not allowed to win!" He laughed and pushed the car faster until he was even with Drake again.

Dawn stayed towards the stable doors, looking at the horses nervously, still unsure about them after the birthday issue.

"Too bad!" He grinned, turning the corner sharply, "Eat my dust!"

Avan went from one horse to the other before settling on a light brown Arabian with a dark brown mane. She was older and bigger than the others. "Dawn, come here," he urged, gesturing her over.

"DRAKE!" he boomed through a laugh. He was right behind him.

"Alright," she said with uncertainty, walking over.

"You mad?" Drake laughed, beginning to get cocky.

"Hold out your hand," Avan said, pulling her closer.
Skylar started saddling a white and light gray Arabian, smiling as he watched them.

"Come back here, loser!" he yelled, laughing and whooping. He veered off to a thin side road. It took him through a rose tunnel.

"O-okay." Dawn said, slowing bringing her hand out.

"What? A secret path? No fair!" he stared before continuing down the path.

The horse exhaled and sniffed her hand before pushing his nose into her palm.
"See, she likes you."

Leo whooped and laughed manically as he came out ahead. "GET ME NOW BITCH!"

"I'm just not sure I like her." she laughed nervously, "Maybe I should just sit this one out."

"Where is a banana when I need one?" He grumbled, starting to speed up.

"Nope, you're riding. We'll take it slow." He led Nadia out of the stall, saddled, and bridled her. He knelt down and intertwined his fingers. "Come on. Up you go."
Skylar chuckled and mounted his own horse. "I'll meet you outside."

Leo glanced over his shoulder and stuck his tongue out.

"Avan, really, I don't have to." She insisted, her anxiety growing.

"You're a dirty cheater!" He yelled over the engine, speeding up.

"Yes you do. Otherwise, you'll never get over it. Come on." He gestured her over with his head.

"No, I just know the shortcuts!" he yelled back.

"Okay." She sighed, slowly nearing the horse, "I know I may seem like an idiot right now but . ." she blushed.

"Yeah, since you've been on this track before!" Drake yelled, pressing harder on the gas, but pressed down on the break as he made a sharp turn.

"No, not at all. I used to be terrified of them, too. Nadia's a good girl. She'll stay still for you."

"That's not cheating!" Leo took the turn wide, leaving an opening.

"Alright," Dawn nodded, "I'm trusting you." She said and hesitantly started to get on the horse.

"In my book it is!" he yelled over the sound of the engine. He took the opening as a chance to speed up and be right at Leo's side.
