"We've heard the stories. I'm going to try to convince Alaric to take a tour of the city with me. We need to see the damage done ourselves."

Lena hopped up next to him. "What do you wanna do, Ash?"

"Let's sneak out!" Jennings gushed, plopping down next to him.

"I think that's a good idea." Mimi nodded, "It would also brighten up the citizens."

"I dunno." he smiled, "Wanna play a game?"

"And go where?" Finn asked, looking interested.

Alaric walked through the courtyard, finding Gen sitting at the fountain, looking a bit down.
"Hey." he greeted, sitting down next to her.
She looked over at him, startled before lightening up into a smile, "Hey, what's up?"
"I was just wondering about your opinon on Adonis."
Her smile started to disappear, "I don't know . . but with Levi with him I don't really trust him." she said quietly.
"I know." he sighed, "But I don't really have much of a choice in the matter."
Gen nodded, "I'm just telling you what I think, but you know I will be there no matter what you chose."
"I know." he said, hugging her.

"I think so, too. They need some sense of connectivity to their king."

"Sure! What do you want to play?"

"Anywhere! Let's go to the city!"

"And to their queen, missy." Mimi winked, grabbing an apple and took a bite out of it before leaning against the counter.

"My Uncle Ben brought a fun game from Senentiae. Let's go play that." he grinned.

"Alright." Finn nodded, standing up, "It'll be fun!"

Isabella smiled. "And to their queen. I wish I could be out there more." She leaned against the counter next to Mimi.

"Alright, let's go." She took his head and led him away.

"Yeah! I'm gonna go get changed first," he said, looking down at his pajamas.

"It's understandable during these times." Mimi said lightly, she looked over as Alaric entered. She grinned and ran forward, attacking him in a hug, "Hey, big brother."
"Mimi!" he said, staggering back before hugging her, "It's good to see you"

Ash smiled, "It should be up in my room."

"I guess I should too." Finn said, "Okay, we'll change then go."

Isabella watched the two of them and giggled. It made her miss Asa. Hopefully, he'd be home soon.

"Let's go then!"

"Alright. Meet you back here." Jennings sprinted back inside and up the stairs.

"So, I decided I'm going through with accepting him. I'm going to send a messenger for him to arrive tonight." Alaric announced.

"Alright." Ash giggled, bringing her upstairs towards his and Jennings's room.

Finn followed after him before disappearing into his room.

Isabella nodded. "Pray this all goes well and peaceful," she murmured.

Jennings just finished changing his pants when Lena and Ash came in. "Finn and I are sneaking out to the city!"
"You'll never make it," Lena stated.
"Will to!"

"That's the goal." Alaric nodded with a faint smile. He then looked over at Mimi, "Where is Allen?"
She sighed, crossing her arms, "He said he was too busy to come. Of All things, in a time like this he won't even come be with us."

"That sounds like fun." Ash smiled with a sneeze, "I hope you guys make it."

"Maybe Asa will bring him around," she said hopefully.

"You should come with us!" Jennings exclaimed.

"Hopefully, the two seem to get along well." Mimi looked over to Alaric, who seemed a bit upset by his brother's absence.

Ash perked up, "Yeah!" He exclaimed happily.

Isabella hugged Alaric around the stomach. "He'll be around."

Lena eyed the two sternly. "I think it's a bad idea."
"You wanna come, too, Lena?"
She hesitated. "Yes," she admitted.
"Go get changed then!"
"Fine!" She darted to her room.

"Hopefully." Alaric nodded, forcing a small smile, "I'm going to get a messenger to send the letter to Adonis, I'll be back." he said, heading into his study.
Mimi sighed, "I hope this is the right thing."

"This'll be so much fun!" Ash grinned, bouncing around.

Isabella watched him go. "I hope so, too."

"It'll be awesome!" he gushed, jumping onto the bed.

"Well, he has all of us, and most importantly, you." Mimi smiled mischeviously.

Ash disappeared into his closet before coming out in tan pants and a white collared shirt, "Let's go, go, go!"

Alaric pulled over a soldier and handed him a letter, "Take this to Adonis."
"As you command." He saluted before riding off.
Alaric released a sigh, hoping this was the right thing he was doing.

Isabella laughed. "I'm his biggest supporter after all. And so much more."

"They're meeting us downstairs. Let's go!"

"I don't really want to know." Mimi laughed, "But I'll take your word for it."

"Okay!" Ash said, following him downstairs, growing excited.

Claudia walked up to the soldier, "I'll deliver it for you, you have training to do."
"But . . . "
"Don't back talk me." she warned. The man sighed, handing her the letter. She got onto her horse and started to ride towards the destination, hoping she'd be able to see Colton, at least for a moment.

"Probably the wiser choice."

Jennings took his hand and raced down the stairs.

Colton met Levi in the courtyard. He was perched on a wide, stone railing, talking to the men he brought with him. They were still mysteries to Colton.

"Go to him, I bet he could use you right now." she smiled.

"What are we going to do in the city?" Ash asked excitedly.

Claudia slowed the horse down as they got to the Courtyard. She then dismounted, walking towards the estate, letter in hand.

Isabella nodded and smiled. "Thank you for coming, Mimi." She slipped out of the room and went to find Alaric.

"I don't know! Anything!"

Colton looked over. He kept his face carefully expressionless as he approached her with Levi close behind. "What are you doing here?" he asked quietly, offering a quick, small smile.

"Anytime." Mimi nodded, watching as Isabella left.

"Let's go get ice cream in town." Ash brightened up, "I remember having some of it when we were younger."

Claudia kept her expression steady as others looked at her curiously and from afar, "I'm here to deliver a letter to Adonis from Alaric." she notified.

Alaric sat out at the rose garden on the bench, his mind heavy with thoughts as he released a sigh.

Isabella trotted outside, spotting Alaric. She crept over, careful not to make a sound. She folded her hands over his eyes. "Who's the best wife in the world?"

Jennings beamed. "Let's do that!"
Lena looked over, hearing Ash and Jennings. Let's go!"

"We'll take you to him," Colton offered.

Alaric smiled, "Ooh, this is a tricky one. Is the right answer my lovely wife Isabella?"

Finn was bouncing around excitedly, "We have to be super sneaky though!"

"I'd appreciate that." she said with a ghost of a smile. Her eyes went over to Levi though and it faded a bit.

"Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner! You win a full, kid-free afternoon with me!" She grinned and kissed his neck playfully.

"I know a secret way out. Follow me!" Jennings whispered before taking off.

Levi walked silently behind them, smirking to himself.
Colton led Claudia to where his father was talking with his advisors in the meeting hall. "Father, messenger from Avon."
"Oh, yes. Claudia, correct?"
