"That would be a good thing to avoid." Chloe smiled, "Follow me." she said, leading him away from the building.

Colin breathed slow and even, smoke puffing out of his nose and mouth with every breath. He opened his eyes, eyes flashing gold. He threw his head back and roared. Fire exploded his mouth, filling the air. The stream was long and strong, burning blue to red to orange to yellow at the tips. His roars turned to screams as teal and black wings burst from his shoulder blades. It hurt! He didn't remember it hurting this much. The pain drove him to his knees where scales crept down his arms and up around his neck.

Devon trotted to keep up with her, more than excited now.

Chloe looked at him and grinned, "We'll get you to be a lightening pro in no time!" she assured.

The pain faded, and Colin growled low in his throat. He flapped his wings, learning which muscles to use. He rose a few feet off the ground but couldn't mange much else. He stalked around the field, shredding everything in sight with his claws. He grinned, enjoying the power it gave him. He felt strong. For the first time in his life, he felt indestructible.

Devon punched the air, jumping. "Yeah!"

Chloe laughed, "That's so cute," she teased, bringing him into the woods not too far away from Faith's Edge.

Fang helped out with the reconstruction for a bit. He grew distracted though, worried about Colin.

Colin stared at the tree line, settling into a runner's crouch. He took off and pushed off the ground. He flapped his wings rhythmically. He soared for 10 or so yards 30 feet off the ground. He let out a panicked yell as he skidded to a stop. On his face. "Ow," he muttered into the dirt.

Devon made a face but laughed. "I'm just excited, OK?"

"I know, I know," she giggled, stopping as they reached an open part of the woods, "Show me what you've got."

Colin took off again and again and again until he could fly 100 feet above the ground for at least 80 yards. He lowered into a running stop and skidded to a stop without falling. "Oh yeah. I can fly," he muttered, grinning proudly. He smirked mischievously, looking back towards Faith's Edge. He took off again, searching for Fang. He'd surprise him. As an apology.

"Alright." Devon pressed his hand against the ground and closed his eyes. Four, deafening cracks split the air as four trees cracked in half, each sparking with enough electricity to fry each leaf. "I can only do pulses, no lightning bolts or anything," he said, "though my pulses are getting stronger."

"Hmm," Chloe said, thinking carefully, "Relax your stance and body, you have to focus on the magic.

Fang released a sigh as he sat down on break, downing a whole glass of water in a few seconds. I hope Colin's okay ..

Devon shook out all the tension in his shoulders and exhaled, forcing himself to relax. He cleared his mind, sighing again.

Colin grinned, spotting Fang. He swept down, wrapped his front claws around Fang's torso and carried him off towards the woods. The dragon scales and muscles in his arms made Fang easy to carry. "Hey, buddy!" he called down at him.

"That's it," Chloe said quietly, encouragingly.

"The F . . ." he looked up at Colin, "Holy crap, you did," he laughed, amazed.

Devon breathed slowly. He could feel the electricity and life in nature all around him. He stepped forward, finger pointed to the sky. A thin, white bolt burst from the tip of his finger, slicing through the air.

Colin laughed with him. "I did it." He angled towards the ground, setting Fang down before landing a couple feet away. He turned, beaming. His scales retreated back up his arms where they disappeared. His wings folded into his back, disappearing as well and the claws vanished. "I can fly. I thought I'd show you first as an apology," he said, rubbing the back of his neck. "Sorry I kinda freaked out on you back there. I don't like putting you in those situations." He offered his best toothy, dorky smile. "We cool?"

"You did it!" Chloe cheered, grinning widely.

"Of course we're cool. I was only just worried about you." Fang said, fixing his plaid shirt.

Devon beamed, looking remarkably childlike in that moment. "That felt good!"

Colin nodded once, relieved. "Good. Plus, you're bloody awful at the whole comforting thing," he teased with another, broad grin.

"It was, I was impressed." She smiled widely, "Wanna give it another shot?"

"What can I say? Human emotions aren't my strong point. Now dealing with upset animals, that I can do."

"Yeah, yeah." He repeated the process, this time the bolt darkening into a light purple and splitting into two forks.

"Well, next time I'm on the verge of an emotional breakdown, I'll turn into a dragon for you," he replied sarcastically, donning his characteristic smirk.

"Colorful and impressive," Chloe clapped, "You're getting the hang of this."

"Thanks, Mr. Sarcastic Dragon Boy," he smirked, "Wanna head back home?"

"Oh man, it gives me adrenaline. Not good," he said, jumping up and down.

"That my new nickname?" he asked. "And yeah, let's head back."

Chloe laughed, "You look like kid hyped up on sugar."

"Yes," Fang smirked, "And you should probably get some rest, it's been a rough day."

"You try having electricity run through you. It's a great energy booster," he said, still hopping.

"I probably should. I haven't slept more than four hours the past two days anyway." He gripped Fang's shoulder as he passed.

Chloe made a face, "I think I'll pass . . thank you though . ."

"Sleep well," Fang nodded, "If you need me, you know where to find me."

"I'm never going to sleep again!" Devon said, bouncing around in a circle.

"Thanks for the offer man, but I, uh, I sleep well enough on my own," he joked, leaning in a bit closer. He smirked and patted Fang's back. "Only kidding. See ya!"

Jade helped with reconstruction for a while, enjoying getting lost in the methodical work. She wondered where the others had gotten off too, hopefully not off for another episode like the previous one. It had been amusing, but it could have ended very badly.

"Woah, woah, settle down," Chloe laughed, putting a hand on his shoulder, trying to keep him from jumping.

Fang rolled his eyes, "Whatever, Colin," a small smirk appeared on his lips, "Sleep well."

Jade stopped and stretched, looking around briefly for something else to do, she'd finished what she was working on.
