"Ah. Fang likes his private time private." He scratched Waffles's head. "His grudges don't usually last too long." He waved at Chloe. "Don't go in there. Fang might attack you."

"Yeah, I heard he was in a mood." Chloe said, making a face. She walked up to Colin and looked at his bruise, "Ooh, looks like you got hit good."

"Do tell us what happened," Marco said, "I got a feeling it wasn't trying to help an old lady across the street."

He opened and closed his mouth a couple times before sighing. "Alright. This 400-pound, empty-headed bodybuilder freaked out like a little girl and smashed his elbow into my face while I was trying to help him out. It was great fun," he replied, twisting his face into a half-smirk, half-scowl.

"Sounds like something you'd get into." Chloe said, amused.
She glanced over at the door as it opened and Fang appeared out, his hands burrowed in the pockets of his jeans, a scowl on his face.

Marco glanced at Fang and didn't want to antagonize him. He turned his attention to everyone else. "So are we going to get a mission now?"

"Just my luck, right?" He grinned at Fang. "Come on, cheer up, it could be worse. You could be dead."

"Maybe in a bit, c'mon, Marco let's go look for jobs." Chloe said, leading the way towards the job board. She figured Fang and Colin should have some time to catch up.
Fang smiled slightly and nodded, "You're right." he still looked at the bruise, "Do I even want to know how you got that mark?"

Marco looked at the job board with Chloe intensely. "Here's one about finding someone who might be in a castle. Sounds... interesting... Totally not a set up for vampires, zombies, and pedophiles."

"Just some 400-pound moron who decided to be a little girl. It's fine though, I was lined up for a good knock in the face about now anyway. It's been far too long." He nodded towards the door. "Do I want to know what that was about?"

"Because you know, it's great to be punched in the face, builds character." Fang smirked, but it wavered at the question, "Just there's a member from Death's Bloom around, it's just making me uneasy, that's all."

"It seems to happen every few weeks." He gripped Fang's shoulder with a reassuring smile. "Traitors never prosper . . . or is that cheaters?" He looked to the ceiling, reciting the phrase in his mind. "Pretty sure it's cheaters, but traitors never last long either. Come on, you need distraction." He pulled Fang down the hall to the mission board by his arm.

Fang's smirk turned into a small smile, "Close enough, I suppose." he replied before he was being pulled down the hallway, "Alright, alright, just don't rip my arm off, alright?" he felt more at ease knowing that Colin was safe. It took his mind off of Jade's presence.

"Hmm, none of these seem interesting enough." Chloe frowned, crossing her arms.

"No promises. I'm stronger than I look." He laughed at his own, private joke. "Any whales that need saving?"

"Well, probably, but where would we even find any." he made a face, "Let's just go travel around town, until the others find a job we can take."

Colin shrugged. "Alright. I've been gone too long anyway. And, I need to show you something. Perfected the art of fire breathing. Finally." He grinned with childlike pride, like a toddler drawing his first picture.

"Nice, man." Fang grinned, proud for him, "Let's move towards the outside of town then show me your epic skills." he folded his arms behind the back of his head as he walked alongside him.

Colin adopted his usual slouching gait, hands in his pockets. His mother used to tell him that he'd end up a hunchback by the time he was twenty. He watched the sky, the people. He stepped around a pair of kids, smiling as they sprinted by with candy and toys.

"Next time you go on a mission, though. Take me along, alright." Fang said, with a pointed tooth smirk, "I hate having to make sure you'll come back alive." he admitted.

"You know, there is another job you can take." Balthasar said from behind Chloe.
She turned around, looking at a piece of paper he handed to her, "What, a Death's Bloom mission?" she asked, shocked, "I thought only the stronger members get these kinds of jobs."
"If you, Jade, Colin, Marco and Fang go, you should all be able to handle it." he said with a kind smile.

"It's a deal. And I hate making you worry. It's not healthy." He ruffled Fang's hair. "Then again, I worry about you occasionally. Might get in over your head."

Fang laughed, straightening his hair, "I'll be fine in missions, I've got the strength of a bear, the grace of an antelope, the speed of a cheetah, I've got this." the paused then laughed a little, "Though I wouldn't mind having the power of a dragon at my side."

"That's all I really have to offer, other than flexibility, but that's not as handy in fighting as strength or speed." They reached the edge of the town. "Ready for this?" he asked, eyes lighting up in anticipation.

"I'm ready, don't leave me in anticipation." Fang grinned, amused, "Show me your new trick."

Colin stepped back and shook out his limbs. He inhaled deeply before letting out a deep, bellowing roar. A 15-foot-long, red, orange, and purple fireball exploded from his mouth into the air. He kept it strong for nearly ten minutes before his air supply dwindled and the fire slowly died. The closest leaves were set ablaze. He grinned and spread his arms out. "What'd you think?"

"Damn." Fang breathed and then nodded, "You sure did impress me. You've gotten better since you've left." he said, "You should be proud."

"I'll go look for them then, thank you Balthasar." she bowed, "Let's go guys." she said to Jade and Marco before leading them towards the outside of the town.
