Rise of the Shadows

"I like to play around with my prey before destroying them, makes it more worthwhile," He smirked, "But I'm not supposed to kill you, they want you alive."

"They? Ooo ominous pronouns, you're trying hard I'll give you that." Cira said, though his words troubled her.

Dani noticed that Cira had been battling the same demon for some time now and wondered if she should intervene. He seemed to be a demonic leader of some sort.

"I'm all about the theatrics." With an impish laugh he lunged forward again, but his blade flew from his hand, "The hell?" he snarled.

"I think that's enough of that for now," Nathaniel murmured, taking a step forward, "I don't want some key actors in this getting overly wounded already."

Cira raised an eyebrow "I was only going to disintegrate him into dust and send him back to hell." she said with mock innocence

Dani noticed Cira's battle suddenly coming to a stop. She lightly leaped off of the roof and landed near Cira on the ground. She looked directly at the creature Cira had been battling and felt a chill go down her spine. Then, she looked at Cira, who had not taken her eyes off of the demon. "Well, wasn't that fun?" she asked.

"Dani, I told you to stay back." Cira snapped.

Lex raised an eyebrow, "Looks like we had a liar. I knew you couldn't have possibly cut off all ties from the angels. I'll have to remember that next time we meet," he smirked, slinking back, "Looks like you win, Mr. Reaper. But we will meet again, angel, and I'll rip you from your grace."

Cira didn't respond, merely glared at him as he disappeared back into the shadows. When he was out of sight she turned on Dani.

"You shouldn't have come down, now he knows about you." she said in a hard voice.

Blake wiped the sticky black ichor on his blade off on his boots and slid it back into it's place. He debated whether he wanted to approach the two angels or just sneak off and avoid the whole awkward encounter. Grudgingly admitting to himself that he owed them a thank you, he started meandering their way.

"So what if he knows about me?" Dani replied. "It's not like I'm a helpless little child!"

"You're right you're not. But this isn't your arena Danielle, you need to listen when I call the shots because now, one of the most powerful demons I have ever seen on Earth is rather bent on tearing you to pieces. Tell me how that's a good thing." Cira said, crossing her arms.

Dani rolled her eyes and looked away. Then, she noticed the faerie boy walking their way. She quickly adjusted her attitude and smiled. "Hello," she said.

Nathaniel's eyes followed the lingering wisps of shadows that the demons left behind. After a moment, they flickered to Cira, "I'd like to speak with you, angel."

Cira looked Nathaniel up and down. Normally she'd have mouthed off to him and gone on her merry way, he had essentially let that demon escape. But there was a cold weight settling in her chest that told her something was very wrong, and that sarcasm wasn't going to get her the answers she desired.
"Alright." she said with a curt nod of assent.

Blake offered Dani an easy half grin as he strode over. 
"You're a good shot." he complimented

Dani shrugged. "I've had a lot of time to practice. Not that you really needed any help."

"Follow me then, it's essential that our conversation is private," his eyes went to the Blake and Dani.

"Yeah no, I totally had everything under control the whole time." Blake replied, rubbing the back of his head with a sheepish grin.

Cira glanced back at her sister, who was clearly occupied with her conversation. "Alright, let's go." she said

"So I noticed. By the way, I'm Danielle." she said while extending her hand for a handshake.

"I'm Blake, nice to meet you." He replied, shaking her hand with a grin.

Dani turned to look for her sister, but saw no one. She turned back towards Blake and said "I should probably find my sister." before she tuned away and started walking in the direction of where she last saw Cira.

"I'll come with you" Blake said, catching up to her. "Looked like she walked off with that reaper."
