Colin followed them in a step later. He hung out in the back, eyes downcast.

Jade followed Chloe in silently, listening.

"I heard that it didn't work out." Balthasar said.
Chloe nodded, looking at the ground, "They escaped, I'm sorry."
"It is not issue, but there are more of Death's Bloom lurking around near here. I want you four to go again. But be careful, the ones you run into this time might be even more dangerous.
Fang glanced behind at Colin for a moment before glancing away, feeling guilt tug at him.

"As long as they stay in one place, I think we'll manage it just fine," Colin stated flatly.

Balthasar raised an eyebrow, "If you are sure, then alright. I wish you good luck."
"Thank you, Balthasar." Chloe said, bowing her head.
Fang headed out the room without a word, his arms crossed loosely over his chest.

Colin nodded once and filed out after the rest. He kept his hands shoved in his pockets, never daring to look up and look anyone in the eye.

Chloe had noticed then tension between Fang and Colin. Usually they were either goofing off or bonding. "Hey, Colin, can I talk to you for a minute?" she asked, a bit concerned.

"Hmm? Yeah, sure." He stopped in front of her and offered a half-hearted smile. "What's up?"

"I was about to ask you the same thing," Chloe said, "What's up with you and Fang? I noticed so . . .." she said, pausing to find the right word, "tension."

He ran a hand through his hair. "I kinda blew up at him last night. I said some things I didn't mean. I hurt him. I was drunk and tired and I don't know . . . I should've never said what I did. I don't know how to apologize to him." He shook his head, closing his eyes. "I don't know how bad I hurt him." He rubbed his fingers against his palm.

"And this is why we doing drinking at rare occasions." Chloe sighed, shaking her head, "Fang can be sensitive, though he may not show it, so he'll avoid it. Try apologizing and see what happens, what's the worse that can happen?"

"He'll shut down completely," he muttered miserably. "But I'll try. Which way did he go?"

"I saw him head outside. Try to make up soon, we've got a mission, and also you two being upset at each other upsets me." she said sadly and offered him a small smile.

Fang leaned against the outside of the building, glancing up at the blue sky, his mind wandering idly.

"It upsets me, too. Thanks, Chloe." He hugged her briefly before jogging outside. He spotted Fang and slowed down to a walk. He exhaled shakily and stopped a foot or so away. The distance was unusual for them. "Hey, Fang," he started, attempting to smile. It was more sad than encouraging, he suspected. "I didn't mean anything I said, you realize that, right?" He played with his hands again, trying desperately to find the right words. "I've never had a friend before. Not really. I don't want to lose the only one I've ever had."

Fang looked over at him, especially shocked by his last words. He hesitated though, was it wrong for him to show concern, likeness, or anything? "It's fine, don't worry about it." was all he could say, and it sounded halfhearted.

"Fang, no come on, don't be like that. It's not alright. I know it's not, and it's all my fault." He moved closer. "I like having someone worrying about me. I've never had that before. It's something new to me. Fang, please." He forced a sad smile. "I'm sorry. I'm so, so sorry."

"I'm not mad . . ." Fang said, hesitant. It was killing him seeing Colin like this. He felt like Colin was apart of his pack, someone to look after, but, he reminded himself that Colin is human, not like him, "It's just . . . I don't know, let's just not talk about this." he said quietly.

Colin's face fell. He nodded and stepped back. He swallowed past the lump in his throat and ignored the ache in his heart. "Alright. OK, whatever you want." He looked away, still playing with his hands. "I'm going to . . . get changed for the mission. I guess I'll meet you before we leave." He hesitated for a second longer before turning and walking away. He shoved his hands in his pockets, head drooped low between his shoulders. "I think I just made it worse," he murmured to himself. He kicked a rock, fighting the urge to scream.

Fang forced himself not to look as Colin as he walked away. A low growl appeared in his throat, "Dammit." he growled. He was frustrated at himself, but he wasn't sure what to say, he was afraid to make Colin angry again.

Jade walked outside idly, waiting for the others. She spotted Fang, but he didn't look very happy, so she hesitated about approaching him.

Fang continued to worry in his mind. He didn't get that Colin said it just because he was intoxicated, he thought he truly meant it in a way. Why would he say it if he didn't? He released a sigh and looked to the side, noticing Jade, "Anything I can help you with?" he asked, raising an eyebrow.

Colin showered and changed out of his old clothes. They smelled faintly of alcohol and sweat. The fresh clothes didn't make him feel any better though. He sat on his bed, watching the clouds roll through the sky outside his window.

"No, just waiting for Chloe and Colin." Jade said with a shrug. She wanted to ask what was wrong, but she figured it was completely not her place.

"Ah," Fang nodded, "Gotcha, we should probably head out soon."

Chloe headed towards Colin's room, trying to gather up everyone to go on the mission. She was hoping he'd still be with Fang, but it wasn't the case. She knocked on his door, "Colin, are you there?"

"Probably." Jade said, crossing her arms idly.
