"That's because you didn't know what you were then. Now you do. And I'm not leaving him here alone. No argument."

She grinned. "So impatient. You'll find out. In time."

Alice sighed, "I suppose it can't be helped. You're so loyal to your friend, Hakkam, it's admirable." She said sweetly, "Kit, you're a prophet. You'll be playing a role in the oncoming war. I want to help you survive it." She said, opening her arms.

Sam growled, "No, you'll tell me now, Blair." He said lowly

Hakkam stayed quiet and watched Kit, whose logical mind rebelled against the thought.
"A prophet?" he asked, the disbelief painfully obvious in his voice.

She grinned. "I got bored. So I decided to start a war."

"Yes." Alice smiled, "I know how it seems all strange, but think about me, Kit. I've been with you since the start of your life. I've watched over you and protected you until that terrible day . . I had to let them take you, it was fate for you to end up here, to play a role in the great war that will occur here." She looked down sadly, tears in her eyes as she looked so pitiful.

Sam tensed, "A war, a war for what?" he demanded.

Kit swallowed hard and looked away. "So . . . you were my guardian angel?"
Hakkam's face softened. She still acted like Alice in a way. His grip on Kit's shoulder loosened slightly.

"What are all wars for?" She leaned in closer, still smiling. "Power."

Alice nodded, "I am your guardian. I will never stop being your guardian angel." she said, holding her hand out through the bars for him.

Sam sneered, "Whatever war this is. I'm stopping you." Staying face to face with her.

Kit took her hand. Hakkam was still at his shoulder, protecting him. "What do I do now?"

She shrugged carelessly. "You've done a terrible job so far."

Alice ran her thumb over his hand, "You stay with me, I'll protect you through this. It will all start soon."

"That's because you had me . . . not myself." he frowned, "How did you do that to me anyways?"

He nodded. "And we'll be able to protect Hakkam and Sam and the . . . twins?" he asked, working hard not to sneer at the mention of the twins.

"With my infinite grace and charm." She laughed at her own joke. "A magician never gives away his tricks."

Alice smiled and nodded, "Of course." she said, "If that's what you want." But it was something she wouldn't be able to control.

Sam just stood there, frowning, "I can't believe I actually felt that way about a b*tch. I should've listened to Kit."

"Please. At least try."

"If there's anything I've learned after being with Kit for so long is that, no matter how much of an a-hole he can be, he's often right. He just decides to be a jerk about it."

"Anything for you Kit." She smiled sadly, "I can't do much behind bars."

"I'll have to talk to him about what to do with you." Sam said, feeling stupid. He knew he was way over his head.

Kit nodded. "I'll talk to Sam. Hakkam?"
He sighed. "We need help and we don't have a lot of options. Let's go find him."

Blair leaned back against the wall. "He'll have some very creative ideas, I assure you."

Alice nodded, understandingly, "Whatever you all are comfortable with." her kindness was almost strange.

Sam sneered at her before heading upstairs, angry and confused.

Hakkam nodded slowly and led Kit up the stairs to find Sam.

Sam leaned against the wall, exhausted. Aiden and Ethan were nearby, keeping an eye out for any reapers, demons, or angels. "What a beautiful mess." he grumbled.

Hakkam and Kit walked over.
"We need to talk," Kit said by way of greeting.

Sam looked over at him and nodded, "Yes, we do, but you first."

"It's about Alice. We talked to her." Kit exhaled. "She says I'm a prophet of some sort. That she's been protecting me all my life. And she says there's a war starting."

Sam's eyes darkened, "I guess she wasn't lying . . " he muttered before looking back at them, "We've got to start preparing."

Jane appeared in Blair's cell, wearing a revealing corset and a short skirt, "Seems like things are going well, Blair. You'll be needed soon once again, as you were in your past lives."

"Lying? Who wasn't lying?" Kit asked. "Blair? What did she say?"

Blair looked up and grinned wickedly. "I just need to get out of here."

"Yeah, Blair." he sighed, "She told me she started a war, I guess that's the one Alice was talking about . . if she's even being honest. I don't trust either of them."

"Done." Jane said, grabbing onto the lock and melted it. She tapped the door and it swung open.

"We can't afford not to trust them. Blair likes to brag. If she says she started a war, then she did. And if they're not lying, then we're in deep sh*t."

Blair nodded her thanks. "OK, let's raise hell."

"What are we supposed to do?" Sam muttered, clenching his head, "We can't win a war against demons and angels!"

"Let's." Jane smiled, creating a dark portal, "We can take this, unless you'd like to go harass the boys more."

"We'll get slaughtered either way. Might as well go down fighting, right?" Hakkam said.

"There'll be plenty of time for that later. Let's go."
